REWARD Oklahoma Announces Program Changes

Great News!  Effective July 1, 2010, you may apply for REWARD Oklahoma immediately rather than waiting until you have worked 6 months at your facility.  In addition, you do not have to wait another 6 months for your first check!

When can I apply?

You can apply to REWARD Oklahoma anytime after you begin working in a qualifying licensed child care facility. If approved, you will have a 6-month commitment period that includes the time you have already worked. For example, if you have worked 4 months and you are approved, you will only have to work for 2 additional months to complete your commitment period and be eligible for a check.

What if I transfer?

When you transfer to another eligible facility within the corporation, you will have to reapply to REWARD Oklahoma. But you can do this as soon as you start your new job. If you are approved, your new commitment period ends 6 months from your hire date at the new facility.

What if I leave my facility?

If you leave your facility, you may reapply as soon as you start work at another eligible facility.  If you are approved, your new commitment period ends 6 months from your hire date at the new facility.

Are there other changes?

Yes! Effective July 1, 2010, there is no longer a level expiration date for Level 10 of the Teacher/Family Child Care Home Scale.  If you were previously on the program at Level 10 and were made inactive for level expiration, you can reapply to REWARD Oklahoma.  You must be working in a facility that meets REWARD Oklahoma program requirements and continue to meet program requirements as a Teacher or Family Child Care Practitioner.

Registry FAQs

::

Can I use college level coursework as renewal hours for my Oklahoma Director's Credential or Professional Development Ladder?

TranscriptYes. Approved early childhood education or management courses shown on an official transcript will be counted toward meeting renewal criteria. Approved college level courses are given 16 training hours for each college credit completed.

::
How do I report if I have a name change, address change or change of employer?

Changes of name, address or employer can be submitted to The Oklahoma Registry by using the "Participant Update Form" available on The Oklahoma Registry section of our website (www.cecpd.org). The completed form may be mailed or faxed in for any changes to your personal information. If you are active on the REWARD Oklahoma program, a new W-9 will need to be submitted if you are reporting a change of name or address.

::
Am I required to pay taxes on my REWARD Oklahoma salary supplement?
Yes. The salary supplement is income, so taxes must be paid. This is why you must have a current W-9 on file before we can issue your check. If you receive $600 or more from REWARD Oklahoma during the calendar year, you will receive an IRS-1099 form at the end of the year.
::

How long will it take to process my application?

The processing time for an application is 30 days from the date the application is considered complete. To be considered complete, your application must include all the necessary documents and you must have an active Professional Development Ladder (or Oklahoma Director's Credential, if you are on the Director Scale).
