New Permit Training Seminar NEXT FRIDAY!

The live session will be held on Friday, March 20th (8:30 am to 12:30 pm) at the Lanoka Harbor Fire House, located on Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. There is no cost to clients, and refreshments (coffee and donuts) will be provided. If you're going to attend, click here to email Doug Ruhlin to confirm your attendance.

If coming, bring your new SWP3 books if you have received them to date!
Sampling Deadlines
The first quarter 2009 is NEARLY DONE! For those of you who are "discharges to surface water", you know that you have to get your first quarter sample before the end of March. DON'T WAIT until the end of the quarter. Recall that from this point on, you only have to monitor for pH (doing it yourself?), TSS, and COD.
"Discharges to groundwater" facilities (or those with both surface water and groundwater discharges), recall that you will begin monitoring April 1st, so we still have some time. Attend one of the training courses to learn more about monitoring.

Also - remember - NO ONE has to do rainfall pH anymore...you still have to do the pH of your discharge sample (ie, the one from your outfall), but not the rainfall collected in a bucket! Don't waste your time with this anymore!
Training Webinars Posted on RMA Website
We held 2 webinars within the past week training concrete producers on the new aspects and requirements of the new NJPDES Concrete Stormwater Permit (did YOU attend?). According to the feedback received here at RMA, the seminars were very informative. Each lasted between 1 1/2 and 2 hours in length.

The second webinar held was recorded and posted on the RMA website in the Client Access area. Visit the Client Access area, and you can view the webinar whenever, wherever you want! You can review it as a refresher, if you didn't watch it "live", or if you'd like to have additional employees at your company trained (a GREAT idea). Remember to let us know you have viewed the webinar, so that we can provide a Training Certificate for your SWP3.

If you aren't signed on to the RMA website's Client Access area, what are you waiting for? There's a LOT of helpful information there, specifically for YOU as a client of RMA.

RMA Sponsors NJCAA Concrete Plant Environmental Award
RMA will be co-sponsoring the first annual NJ Concrete & Aggregate Association's Environmental Excellence award for ready-mixed concrete plants in NJ. Applications are relatively short and simple, and can be easily prepared and submitted to NJCAA. Applications are due by the end of March, 2009, and awards will be announced during the NJCAA Annual Forum in April at the Seaview Marriott Resort in Pleasantville NJ.

All NJCAA-member concrete plants are welcome to apply! Applications are available here.

RMA will also be sponsoring a "green concrete" award for the most sustainable project that uses concrete on the job. Examples might include LEED projects, pervious concrete, concrete used to improve the aesthetic condition of a project, etc. For more information on this award (which will also be presented at the NJCAA Annual Forum), contact Doug Ruhlin at RMA.

Available Materials on RMA Website
The RMA website includes a "clients only" area meant for YOU! It includes pre-recorded webinars that you can view at your leisure (along with your employees - providing documentable training for all!), as well as most forms you might need for stormwater work and lots more information. There's even a short training session (on the home page) on how to sign up for the clients only area. Why haven't you signed up yet?
