In Honor of Mothers

Some Mothers give us life

Some Mothers give us love

Some Mothers give us care and kindness

Some Mothers give us guidance and knowledge

Some Mothers give us humor and happiness

Some Mothers give us what they can, and do their best

Some Mothers give us to another to give us safety and love

Some Mothers have other titles - like GodMother and GrandMother

Some Mothers do the work, but don't get the title

Some Mothers step in and are our StepMothers

Some Mothers help us by allowing us to have more than one Mother

Some Mothers don't get to be parents, even though they are Mothers

Some Mothers lose their children due to poverty or war or violence

Some Mothers know their limits, and choose not to be the parent

Some Mothers are not given choices or support

Some Mothers go to the ends of the earth to be Mothers

Some Mothers love their children enough to see where they come from
and where they grew

All Mothers are integral to our existence and wellbeing

All Children on the earth have at least one Mother and  are celebrating the Mothers
we have lost, loved, gained, and gathered in life  
-on this Mothers Day Weekend.
