Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ
With great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all (Acts: 4:33) I had a lot of fun this past week. I especially enjoyed spending a few minutes with the children who were in church on Easter Sunday morning. They bring such curiosity and joy with them when they participate. Ah, that we could all approach this Season of Easter w/ such anticipation, laughter, and excitement.
Our church is at its best when we celebrate the truth and grace of Jesus the Christ's resurrection. We probably learn more about ourselves and our need for God's love during Holy Week but it is in our response to God's victory over death and suffering when and where we proclaim the fact that Jesus is The Risen Lord and we are forever transformed by his triumph.

Perhaps we can all practice our faith like Kalle Kent (pictured left) and the other children did at our Easter Day Egg Hunt. Life is full of opportunities to live like Resurrection believers. We can offer thanks when we discover something new and wonderful. We are disciples when we share newfound gifts with strangers and neighbors alike. We should come together and proclaim in word, song, prayer and sacrament, our thanksgiving for Jesus the Christ's sacrificial love and ever-abiding peace. Easter-tide (The days between now and the Day of Pentecost - April 8th - May 26th) provides 50 days to inquisitively seek and share the Good News of Christ's resurrection. Try giggling with God a little bit. Race out on to the grass of life with the assurance that God is running alongside of you. Blissfully listen to some music or some other source of encouragement that brings you closer to yourself and to the Risen Lord. Heck - go to, watch, or listen to a Reds game and thank God when they get a hit. Whatever you do ... be present with a joyful heart and a gracious soul - Christ is Risen ...It's supposed to be fun! Blessings Along The Way, Jim+ |

I truly cannot thank everyone enough for helping make St. James' Holy Week and Easter Offerings so remarkably spiritual and wonder-full. Thanks especially to Dick and the choir for their beautiful performances. Thanks to Chris Gentry and all of the acolytes for their tremendous help during the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday morning. Thanks to Lisa and others who provided childcare in the nursery. Special thanks to Sue Stanton and all of the lectors who read so beautifully. Plentiful thanks to Walt Dewar Jr. and to all of the ushers and greeters for the extra hours that they put in. Thanks to Pam Peak & Leanne Kent for their delightful work with the children and for organizing such a fun filled and happy Easter Egg Hunt. Julie Murray and Lisa Jacob went out of their way to take some beautiful Easter photos. We'll be sharing the fruits of their labors with families and in our new parish directory in the weeks to come. We're fortunate to have such dedicated members who are coincidentally such wonderful photographers. I especially want to offer my thanks to Pat Ognenoff and to all of the members of the Altar Guild. Both St. Luke and St. James' looked gorgeous for each and every Holy Week and Easter worship service. Lastly, I simply cannot sacramentally serve the people of God who worship here without all of the support that I receive from the chalice bearers at the altar. You're a gift to me and I'm very grateful. I believe that these past few
days benefited many people and displayed our Lord's passion and resurrection in splendid ways. Each and all of you contributed with wonderful patience, skill, and Christ-like hospitality. We're a warm and caring church because of your kindness and friendliness. I'm grateful to serve among you. :)
