Catalina Mountains
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ

You could look out the windows of my mother's home in Tucson and view beautiful sunrises over the Rincon Mountains. She also had an awe-inspiring view of the Catalina Mountains too. She loved those mountains, her home, her family and her church.

Sadly, she died this morning right around sunrise, following a real and dreadful battle with a MRSA infection and associated complications. She was my mom as well as a wonderful Christian woman with a deep love of Jesus Christ and an appreciative sense of his power and love for her and all of us. I miss her. I'm thankful that her suffering is at last, finished.

My sister Sherill  along with my brothers Ron, and Bob are grieving her loss. Our dad died many years ago. It's a tough time for us saying goodbye to our surviving parent. We are beginning the process of making preparations for traveling back home to be with one another, celebrate her life, and make arrangements for her funeral. (which will most likely be on Nov. 19th).

I feel the need to share this news with you and let you know that I'm not quite up to preparing a Wednesday e-mail message or being in the office today. I've asked Anisa+ to attend to matters at least through today.   John, Anne, and Karen are available too.

I ask for your prayers for my mother - Bette (Anderson), family and me through the coming hours and days ahead. May our grief last no longer than necessary and may we comfort one another as Christ comforts us.

Blessings Along The Way, Jim+

Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your
resurrected Christ icon
daughter Bette. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of
your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your
own redeeming. Receive her into the arms of your mercy,
into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the
glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.

May her soul and the souls of all the departed, through the
mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

How Great Thou Art
My mom loved George Beverly Shea and she loved his rendition of How Great Thou Art. I often heard the tune first thing on Sunday Mornings when I was growing up. I'd like to share this version with you today.

I love you mom. Thank you for the music and all the love you shared with me.
