As the school year comes to a close, we would like to take a second and say "Thank you." It's been another wonderful year and we've enjoyed working with each and every one of you. Another Great Time at NETA 2012  NETA 2012, April 26th-27th, provided a stellar conference experience for yet another year. These ladies, Becky Keilig and Kelley Jarzynka of Ravenna Public Schools, were two of several happy Livescribe winners. New ET Training Center Open and Ready For Business
We are pleased to announce the beginning of a new era for our company, our recently completed training center and corporate office located at 5810 S. 142nd St. in Southwest Omaha, just off of I-80 on 144th St.
Our new state-of-the-art training room accommodates 24 trainees and features six interactive stations that can be individually controlled by a custom-built iPad app. The built-in sound enhancement system and comfortable rolling computer chairs add to the pleasant atmosphere for training.
In addition, trainees will have access to a sunlight-filled break room that features a fully-furnished kitchen with both a refrigerator and microwave.

Taking Print-on Paper to the Computer with the Pencast PDF Overlay Method
Have you created print-on-paper activities with your Livescribe smartpen that you would like to make accessible to students on the computer - like talking study guides, teacher-guided test reviews, or talking tests? Our very own Tim Fahlberg has created an excellent video that shows you step-by-step how to use a free Windows software to create a pencast PDF from a print-on-paper activity.
We are still in search of a free software (or at least a cheaper option than Adobe Acrobat X) that will accomplish this same feat. Please contact us and let us know if you might have any suggestions!

What Are You Doing With Your Document Camera? From the increased awareness of document cameras at NETA 2012, we are excited to see that some of you have "caught the fever" of this great technology. Many have seen it as the new-fangled replacement for the messy overhead projector. However, if this is all you are doing with your document camera, are you short-changing this multi-purpose technology tool?
Yes, you can view worksheets or compose notes under the doc cam that you go through as a class, just like you used to do with your old overhead projector, but have you thought about... - Putting student writing under the doc cam to have students point out the good points, the points that need work, or to practice proofreading?
- Freezing the pages of a book while you turn to another part of the book so students don't have to watch you flip the pages?
- Recording a lab that is too expensive or time consuming to repeat but that absent students would benefit from watching?
- Giving every student a front row seat as you use math manipulatives together and then allowing them to work with their own manipulatives at their desk.
- Showing a timer under the doc cam to assist students with time management.
- Taking periodic images of things done under the doc cam to share with absent students or create a daily history of your classwork.
- Share items too fragile to pass around the room under the doc cam. This works great for show-and-tell!
- Demonstrate how to use a calculator, iTouch, or iPad.
- Skype with students at another school, scientists within the community, or artists around the globe.
- The expensive book that is too big and too expensive to purchase for every st
 udent? Share it under your doc cam! - Use the doc cam with science dissections so that students always know what you are referring to when your description doesn't quite make sense. You can document the dissection with pictures to use on tests or reviews.
- Document chicks hatching or plants growing - anything that shows progress - with time lapse photography. This is perfect for science fair projects!
- Use the dictionary under the doc cam to teach this skills when only one is available.
- Don't have an interactive whiteboard? Project writing paper, graph paper, or any kind of template onto your dry erase board to serve as a background for exercises that require it.

The Audio Enhancement Grant program helps educators purchase their first audio system for schools, district, or higher education institutions.
The Audio Enhancement Achiever Grant provides 5 Achiever Pal Systems at no cost with the purchase of 5 Achiever Pal Systems at a cost of only $7,975. The Audio Enhancement Single Channel Starter Grant provides 4 Single Channel Systems, which will equip 4 classrooms, at no cost.
