Greetings!
The holiday season is in full swing and that means parties, travel and the end of yet another semester. With the frantic holiday pace and everything on the agenda, now is the perfect time to let CPS do some of the grading.
Creating a simple fast-grade key in CPS allows you to collect summative data while kids work at their own pace, all while grading the assessment for you. Although we wouldn't recommend this for a high stakes end-of-the-semester test if you've not been using them throughout the semester, they are the perfect tool during review and preparation to save a few hours of grading while you party up the holiday season!
We'd also like to take this time to thank each and every one of you this holiday season for allowing us to be a part of your classroom. We are truly blessed in having the opportunity to work with so many great educators and administrators.

Using the Livescribe Smartpen for Remote Instruction
We all know what a drag writing out long detailed sub plans is. The work is only heightened if you know have to take a prolonged absence for surgery, illness, or maternity leave.
What if you had an easy way to share those plans without writing out every word? Better yet, what if you could actually carry out your classroom instruction with both audio and video while you were gone?
When would instructing with the Livescribe pen be a good idea?- Subs are in short supply in your district or you teach a specialty area like calculus or a foreign language and in many cases a "sub day" is lost time.

Users Want to Know  In the middle of teaching, my Mobi will stop working and say disconnected. It will then automatically say attempting to connect and then connected. Depending on the day, this process can take anywhere from 10 seconds to 20 seconds and can happen up to 7 times in one class period. Is the issue with my computer, updates, the usb drive, etc.?? See Answer I have a clicker that refuses to turn off. I press the power button - it says powering down and then turns right back on. I have tried replacing the batteries, but it is stuck on Question 12 and I can't get it to do anything else. Any ideas on how to fix it? See Answer |

Interested in Hosting an eInstruction EdTech Conference?
eInstruction partners with schools and districts through a professional development grant program giving local organizers a $3500 grant to host an education technology conference and is now taking applications for 2012 EdTech conferences. Conferences are 1- to 2-day events designed to offer sessions on a variety of instructional technology tools and pedagogical best practices to help educators integrate technology into their curriculum. The conferences are geared towards those interested in enhancing the teaching and learning of mathematics, science, and other  subject areas through the use of interactive technology solutions.
