Important Notice For Mac Users Re: Apple OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
|
As you may know, Apple recently released
the newest version of its operating system, OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Since
this update was released earlier than expected, eInstruction® had
not had an opportunity to test their family of products with Snow Leopard. However, after some
preliminary testing, eInstruction's product development team has determined that the
latest upgrade to Apple's operating system, OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, causes significant compatibility issues with
many of eInstruction's products.
As it is rather difficult to revert back
to a previous version of the operating system, we would advise
you to delay upgrading to Snow Leopard until eInstruction®
can provide full support for their family of products.
eInstruction does plan to provide support
for Snow Leopard, and the Product Development team is working hard to determine
when full support will be available.
We will be sure to notify you as soon as a
software patch is created for Snow Leopard.

Changing the Channel of Your CPS RF Remotes
|
School is in full swing and you may find yourself with a larger class and your teaching "neighbor" with a smaller class than last year. Rather than purchasing new remotes, you can easily change the channel of the extra receivers you "borrow" from the nearby classroom.
Likewise, if you need to put together a large number of remotes from several classroom for an event such as a junior class meeting or an all-school assembly, this is just the tip you need.
To change
the channel of CPS Gen 2 RF Pads:
- Make sure the remote is turned off.
 - Press
both of the arrow keys < > at exactly the same time.
- After pressing both of the arrows keys, your clicker screen should still be blank.
- Press
the + - button.
- Note: If your remote says SMA or TMA, turn off and
try again
- **Channel: Enter the two-digit channel number then send.
- **Address: Enter the pad number then send.
- Pressing
send one more time will power down the pad.
**Note: If the channel and address are already
correct, you do not have to enter them again; simply pressing send will retain
the current information.

| Fun Activities For Get National Punctuation Day on September 24th |
Photos of the Most Annoying Punctuation Gaffes These pictures are great to add to your whiteboard gallery. Make up
some quick multiple choice questions about what's wrong with the
picture or asking the students the correct way to punctuate the phrases
in the picture. You could also pass around a Mobi and have each
student circle the error before passing it on to the next student. If
you have multiple sections of the same class, have a competition
between classes of which class can complete the correction of all the
pictures the fastest. Either way, there are a lot of fun ways to use
these pictures with your Mobi or clickers!
Punctuate the Texts These little activities would be fun to do against a little time clock. Don't make it too hard, but make time a little bit of a factor. Project the text and have each student take the Mobi and make one correction. After making one correction, they pass the Mobi to the next student. See if they can get all the corrections made before the time is up.
TopMarks Literacy Whiteboard Activities Here you'll find several great activities to teach punctuation with your wireless tablet or whiteboard.
Punctuation: What's Missing? A fun PowerPoint game that gets students familiar with the names of different punctuation marks.
