Greetings!
|
Mobi
is off to a fantastic start and teachers everywhere are reaping the rewards of
Mobi's immediate feedback already! Joan Plagge from Wisner-Pilger in Wisner, Nebraska, and
Julie Nemecheck from Holcomb, Kansas, were the first in their respective states to
receive the new Mobi tablet.
With over 10,000 out the door in the first
month and the "official" release at FETC last month, people all across the
state are thrilled with the instant feedback Mobi allows them to get. CPS
has always been great at providing instant feedback, but now with the Mobi Kwik screen,
valuable information is privately viewed as each question is delivered in real
time, making it that much easier to know by name those students that are struggling.
Formative assessments and teaching just got much more informative! If you're interested in trying out a Mobi at your school, please contact us soon!
Sincerely, Dustin Frank

| Become an eInstruction Classroom Champion
|
eInstruction is looking for educators to help show how they've integrated the Interwrite Mobi and Pad, CPS and interactive whiteboards into their classrooms. This program will allow eInstruction's Classroom Champions to share their best practices, hints, and strategies for engaging students and using technology to enhance learning. Classroom Champions would: - join us at our booth at regional and national tradeshows.
- submit presentation proposals to conferences
 - share best practices and content ideas
- become beta testers and be the first to see and try our new products
If you're interested in becoming an eInstruction Classroom Champion, please contact us!

Get a Peek of the Mobi KWIK Screen
|
The Interwrite Mobi System was unveiled in January and we've posted a slideshow on our site of some pictures of the KWIK (Know-What-I-Know) screen. The KWIK screen is one of the neatest things about the Mobi; it gives the teacher real-time feedback when used with CPS clickers. Here are some of the various reports available for viewing from the KIWK screen... Session Overview: Displays general overview of SRS session being conducted. Response Per Student: Student response is displayed and a green check mark is displayed for correct responses and red X for incorrect responses. Total cumulative percentage is displayed for all students on this question. Response Grid: Displays all correct or incorrect, indicated with a green check mark or red X. Option within SRS to show only correct or incorrect responses. Bar Graph Per Question: Displays a horizontal bar for each answer option. The length of the bar is proportional to the percentage of students who submitted that answer option. Total responses are listed along the bottom of the screen. Cumulative Session Score: Provides cumulateve score by student for a group of questions. Summary Per Question: Total cumulative percentage is displayed for all students for all questions.

Websites of the Month
|
www.shmoop.com Although
still in its beta stage, this is definitely a website to keep
on your radar. With content written primarily by Ph.D. and Masters
students from top universities, like Stanford,
Berkeley, Harvard, and Yale, Shmoop's mission is "to make learning and
writing more fun and relevant for students in the digital age." This is
a great website for making literature and history fun. Its humorous
and engaging writing style will no doubt make these topics ever more
interesting, and the Big Picture Study Questions section does contain
some great verbal questions to use with the clickers while discussing.
www.wolfram.com/edu/
You'll
find a plethora of simulations that will be great to use with your
interactive tablet or whiteboard at the Wolfram Education Portal.
You'll have fun browsing this collection of simulations and
demonstrations and will find age-appropriate activities for elementary
to college-aged students. One of the great aspects of some of these
simulations that I see are the ability to turn a student or a group of
students loose in a center with a wireless tablet, let them control the
variables in the simulation, and then develop an explanation of tha
simulation themselves. Coming together and talking about it as a group
will have much more meaning after that!
