Our website is getting an overhaul, so you might notice some changes in the next few weeks.  Pages should function normally, but we're working on making our website easier to navigate and more comprehensive.

Content Meets Technology Sweepstakes

Thanks to all who entered eInstruction's  Content Meets Technology Sweepstakes! Although we weren't lucky enough to have any winners from either Kansas or Nebraska, there were 3 lucky winners from Colorado, South Dakota, and Texas.

to see the list of winners and a teaser announcing the 2nd annual eInstruction Teachers/Student Music Video Parody Contest that kicks off September 15th!

Greetings!

Summer is upon us and now it's time for teachers to take time off (Ha, ha, ha--Yeah right, if they only knew!)

Our latest versions of both CPS for PC and Workspace ExamView Edition are now out and shipping.  Our entire product line is beginning to come together since the acquisition of Interwrite Learning, making the interactive classroom easier and easier with eInstruction.

As you can see by our "New User" list, Nebraska is still exploding as the word spreads of how "clickers" continue to transform classrooms all across the state.

Now is a great time to schedule your fall in-service times, some schools are already booking in November through February, so don't wait much longer.  If you know your schedule and dates, call now to reserve time to further aide your staff in implementing their clickers to the fullest.

Be looking for new versions on the Mac side in the coming weeks as we continue to keep CPS ahead of the curve for our users.

Sincerely,

Dustin Frank

New CPS 5.4 for PC now available for download!

It's here...the latest PC version release of CPS!  Make sure and get your computer set up with the latest release before school starts.

Check out some of the updates you can look forward to and then make your way to download it HERE!

· Verbal Questions and Automatic Charting: A new setting for "Auto Show Charting" for verbal Questions which allows the user to turn off the automatic charting for verbal questions.

· Snapshot Button: There is now a button on the Question
Delivery screen which allows the user to take snapshots of the screen. The image is saved to the hard drive and is attached to the question for reports. So, use verbal questions with any software you like for displaying the question. Just take a snapshot of the screen and you
have captured the question for your reports.

· Question Response Data Export: New CSV export grouping the question and response stems of each question with response data from the students to facilitate building charts for the questions in MS Excel.

· HE Students can use their pads right "out of the box":
Students using Gen2 RF Response Pads with OOTB firmware will now be able to use their pad in classes prior to online registration.

· LMS upgrades and enhancements: Improved integration between CPS and Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard and WebCT.

· Angel (for Higher Education) now supported: Added support for the popular Angel LMS for Higher Education users.

· Integration with Workspace 7.6: You can now use your CPS response pads right inside the 7.6 version of the Workspace software from Interwrite.

· Engage Attendance: You can now choose an Attendance tab within the Engage workflow tab. This will enable instructors to take attendance without starting a Teacher Managed engage session.

· Window resizing improvements: Elements displayed in the Content Deliver window can now be resized to take advantage of screen resolutions greater than 800 x 600.

· Improved SEARCH features: SEARCH is now eInstruction TownCenter. Educators can still find CPS content and can also now easily share their own CPS content with others.

· State Standards now available in TownCenter: State Standards are now available via drag and drop in TownCenter.

The Next-Gen Lecturer

Math teacher, Dan Meyer, has created some great videos on how video can impact teaching and learning and shared them on his blog.  My favorite video of Dan's
(See it HERE!) involves something that ANY teacher can do using just a digital camera.

There's not a lot of fancy digital video or movie editing stuff; it's simply being aware of teachable moments outside the classroom and using a digital camera to bring them into your classroom.

Dan mentions the importance of a carefully selected image and really strong questioning.  Incorporate that with the use of classroom clickers, and just imagine how your classroom could evolve!

It got my wheels to turning. Dan teaches math, but how could you incorporate this into your subject matter?  There's a way...just start thinking outside the box.

Our New User List Has Exploded!

WOW!  We have been adding new CPS users to our list like crazy this spring and summer!  A big welcome goes out to all of our new users and we're looking forward to many more!
