June is crammed full of events here at Shaker Square, and I can't wait to get started. Here is a list of everything you can do at Shaker Square in June.

Larchmere Porchfest Saturday June 23 2 pm to 10 pmLake Erie Artists Gallery is completely excited to be able to participate in this year's new Shaker Square Arts Festival, and be a sponsor of the Larchmere Porchfest. Lots of summer fun for families of all ages. We hope to see you at one of these events.

Sunday Afternoon Arts Festivals Coming to Shaker Square
Shaker Square is hosting a new grassroots Arts Festival three Sundays this summer on the sidewalk and grass at Shaker Square.
The first installment of the festival will take place on Sunday afternoon June 10 from 12 noon to 5 pm. If you walk the Square, you will discover delightful artwork from artists in just about every field.
In addition, Lake Erie Artists Gallery will be hosting The Velvet Box's Jen Pitts, who will be demonstrating her lampwork glass technique in front of our shop. Jen will also have her beads with her to sell, and will be happy to discuss her work with you.
From 12 noon to 2 pm, you may also see artist Ralph Solonitz wandering the area sketching the art festival and the comings and goings of the people. If you are lucky, he may even create a sketch of you.
Lake Erie Artists Gallery will also be offering a special 1 hour class from 1 pm to 2 pm taught by artist Katie Mullins, so that festival visitors can walk away with something they have made themselves. The class is to make Galaxy Rings for $20 per person including all materials and tools.

Gathering Together
Lake Erie Artists Gallery is sponsoring a summer art contest that kicks off on June 1, 2012.
The 2012 Essence of Shaker Square Art Contest will offer a first and second prize for a total of $500 in cash.
Contest entries must follow the rules, and be entered into the contest no later than Saturday August 25, 2012. There will be a Closing Party open to the public on Saturday August 25 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
