SB 512 does not apply to IMRF "Tier 3" bill would apply only to state of Illinois and city of Chicago employees Also discussed during the Veto Session was Senate Bill 512. This proposed legislation, which would create a three-tiered retirement system for certain employees of the state of Illinois and the city of Chicago, does not apply to IMRF members or retirees.
The House of Representatives Personnel and Pensions Committee approved the bill by a 5-4 vote. The bill was not called for a vote in the full House and it is unclear whether the bill will be called for a vote before the 2011 Veto Session ends.
