Scholarships, Outstanding Contribution Award and the Distinguished Service Award Nominations NOW OPEN.

The ariZoni Scholarship Committee will be offering scholarships to selected candidates enrolled or intending to enroll full-time in a two year junior college, four year undergraduate college or university, graduate program, or professional theatre training program. These are one-year, non-renewable scholarships for the fall of 2011.  Scholarships will be given based on the number of qualified applicants receive by the ariZoni committee.

Deadline is August 15th, so start thinking about your stellar students and nominate them now!

Application and guidelines can be found online at: http://www.arizoniawards.com

Theatres may nominate more than one applicant. Please feel free to make copies of the guidelines and the application to pass on to deserving applicants.

Applications are also now being accepted for the Outstanding Contribution Award (OCA), and the Distinguished Service Award (DSA).

The Outstanding Contribution Award honors an individual from within the theatre community who has served in a profound way through personal investment of time, energy, vision and talent. This award can be bestowed upon administrators, directors, writers, producers, designers, actors, technicians, volunteers, support staff, or any individual involved in theatre.

The Distinguished Service Award honors an individual, corporation, or organization outside the established theatre community that has contributed either financially or non-traditionally, in support of local theatre, and its further recognition, security and growth in the Valley.

Click here for complete guidelines and application: http://www.arizoniawards.com

Please feel free to copy the applications, and pass them on to other members of your theatre. Take the time to recognize someone in your organization or those in the community who have helped your theatre find success.

For questions or further information visit our website, or contact Awards Chairperson Karen Rolston at karolston@cox.net.

All applications must be received by August 15, 2011.

Don't forget that Theater Applications and fees are due June 1st!  If questions, please let us know!

As we close the current season, there are a few things that need your attention, so please read this newZletter for complete details regarding:
  • Scholarships - Please solicit and encourage college-bound students (or those in college) to apply for an ariZoni scholarship.  This year we will be awarding $5,000 worth of scholarships!
  • Outstanding Contribution Award - Please submit applications for this prestigious award.  This award can be bestowed upon administrators, directors, writers, producers, designers, actors, technicians, volunteers, support staff, or any individual involved in theatre.
  • Distinguished Service Award - Another award, to be presented at our upcoming Awards Ceremony on September 19th, honors an individual, corporation, or organization outside the established theatre community that has contributed either financially or non-traditionally, in support of local theatre and its further recognition, security and growth in the Valley.
The applications for these are due by August 15th.  Please take a few minutes to submit a nomination or encourage well-deserving college students to submit an application for a scholarship.  It's about giving back and recognizing those who give so much to the arts.

Our sincere thanks for your continued support throughout this season.

It will be a very busy summer and please let us know if you are interested in joining the Board of Directors or volunteering to help plan for the awards ceremony on September 19th!
