Welcome!

We're glad you're here...and glad (kinda) to be back too! (Happy New Year! How many new iPhones are out there?) Sure enough we got clipped by Hurricane Noel the first weekend of November. (Yikes!) But unlike our friends in Boston and the surrounds, we are happy to report that we have escaped much of the cold and all of the snow, so far this winter! But Mother Nature has a way of evening things out, so we suspect we're due yet! (probably Easter weekend

But no matter the weather, winter is upon us. And winter is the time for projects. And we have lots of projects in the works. Perhaps the most exciting is that earlier today we launched our new ONLINE RESERVATION system! Now with just a few clicks of the mouse, you can check availability. Compare rates. See about package specials. And if you are favorably inclined, make a reservation. Yes now even at 3AM, it really is, never too early to plan your Nantucket vacation!

(be certain to read the entire email and take advantage of a GREAT rate deal, just for our readers!)

In addition to that, our friends at nantucket.net are feverishly working away at redesigning our website. Don't worry, we're not taking anything away. Just updating the look. Adding a lot more photos. And hopefully improving the ease of navigation. (Watch your inbox for an early February announcement)

But please don't worry that we are working too much! Vacation plans have been made and are eagerly anticipated. That unusually large gap between the February and March e-newsletters is your humble editor doing much needed research on drain swirls in both New Zealand and Australia.

In the meantime, make yourself a nice cup of cocoa. Sit back, relax and enjoy!

(oh, and GO PATS!)

  INTRODUCING
 GOOD,
 BETTER,
 GREAT
  RATES

Ever wonder if that online reservation you just booked was really the best available rate?

With all of the options these days, it's hard to know for sure. But with our new online reservations, you'll always know... because we'll tell you! That's right! For each of our room types, you'll see the nightly Rack rate - which is our always affordable published rate. And then you'll see all the discount rates* that are currently available - GOOD, BETTER, GREAT! (Our package rates are always a GREAT deal and always in short supply)

Why do we do this? Well, its simple supply and demand. We practice a rooms merchandising strategy to discount rooms when necessary and maximize rate during peak demand periods. Room types, current occupancy and forecasted occupancy all influence the rates that you see during the reservation process. Don't see a deal? Re-define your search for a different set of dates. And if you do find one - book it fast because GREAT rates don't last long.

And after you arrive, don't be worried about hidden fees or expensive add-ons. What you see, is what you pay! Our rates provide you first class accommodations and personalized services as well all the "little extras" that other hotels normally charge you extra to enjoy. No nickels! No dimes!

By offering our guest's the lowest, all-inclusive nightly rate available (subject to occupancy taxes) -- you know exactly what your vacation costs will be in advance!

And without the fear of online booking remorse!

* applies to online bookings only;

group and negotiated rates may (occasionally) be priced lower

PLAN A WINTER ESCAPE
SSA from the air
No, the Nantucket Inn isn't available to host your visit right now (sorry! April 18). However, Nantucket can be a great winter escape -- uncrowded streets and beaches, the wonderful Whaling Museum
and great sale shopping!

REDECORATING CONTINUES...

If you were with us last year, then you already know about our lovely newly redecorated oversized double rooms, king rooms and cottage rooms.

Well, we are very pleased to continue that project inbed in cottage 2008! All 50 of our queen bedded rooms will be fitted with brand new thicker style mattresses. And these comfy new beds will be fitted with comfy new quilted bedspreads along with plump pillows, new draperies, window shades and accents.

The new product is all on site -- a full trailer full of bedding and a lobby full of boxes! We'll start doing some installation this weekend with a goal to have everything completed by March 1.

Speaking of projects, you may know that we have a sister property in North Falmouth -- the SeaCrest Resort. Well, we have adopted another sibling -- the Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis (formerly the Sheraton Four Points Hyannis) This 224 room resort and conference center is getting a complete multi-million dollar make-over just in time for the start of the 2008 season. At any given time they have a crew of 80-100 workers -- and I'm not sure they even have a lobby to store boxes!

Both properties make a great stop over point on the way to Nantucket. (which is kind of the point!)

THE NOT SO FINE PRINT

Before we get too far along, lets restate the ground rules. (if you were with us  last year, you know this already -- if not, feel free to read on!) The reason you're here is because somewhere along the line you asked to be added to our email list. (Honest, you did!)We never, ever buy names and for that matter will never, ever sell yours. But if you don't want to be here...that's OK! There's a very easy feature right at the bottom of this page that lets you unsubscribe forever. BUT hold on! That link will always be there, so why not give us a shot and after a couple dozen attempts(?), if your not completely satisfied, then you can unsubscribe.

What do you get from us? Well, lets face it, we want you to visit Nantucket and stay at the Nantucket Inn. (but you knew that as soon as you saw the "from" line). So consider this to be a gentle reminder. There will only be a newsletter every month or so. And with that, we will try to give you a little more insight into the island and maybe answer some common questions. When its warranted, we might send out some breaking news. Sometimes it might just be fun.  And finally we want to give you first shot at "GREAT rates" -- dates where occupancy is pretty bleak and we just need some smiling faces around the place!

There will always be a section on basic Nantucket Inn stuff. Our telephone number and current office hours, a link to the website and a way to request a brochure. We're not looking to be hard sell -- but you can!

...and we want your feedback! So feel free to tell us what you think!
