So here we are, the end of another wonderful season on Nantucket! And yes, this will be a final e-newsletter of 2007. The Nantucket Inn will close on Sunday October 21. (staff party Monday) We generally re-open in mid April. (looks like Friday April 18, 2008, although that is subject to change) 
 
Before we get too far along with our goodbyes, the end of  September and October can be wonderful times on Nantucket. (just keep an eye of the weather forecast) The cost of almost everything drops dramatically and some days it feels like you have the island to yourself! So check out some of the links along the right-hand side of the page and if the spirit moves you -- book one last trip before the cold winter winds begin to blow!

So enough about us,
...what's up with you?
 
While the vast majority of our staff will be heading off to warmer climes after closing, your humble editor will be holding down the fort for the winter and hopefully implementing a exciting new ideas for the new season.
 
We have over 1000 email addresses that we send this newsletter to each month. Of those 1000 about 50% are actually opened (read is another story) and a lot of readers do click through the various imbedded links. A few readers decide to opt out of future mailings. And while that's all great statistically...its not real warm and fuzzy.
 
So while we may very well regret this, we've decided that its time for us to stop typing and for you to start. We want to hear your feedback about anything related to Nantucket, the Nantucket Inn, the e-newsletter or whatever...the good, the bad, the ugly (how about the constructive?) If you stayed with us, what did you enjoy? what would you like to see improved? And perhaps more importantly, if you didn't stay with us, why?
 
Our promise to you, is that we will read and consider every response. And since we have a whole winter ahead of us, we'll respond to everyone as well. But more importantly, if it makes good sense, we'll implement it! (maybe we could even have a little ceremony -- a few dignitaries, some doves...nothing big...we'll talk later) 
 
So here's your big chance to tell us what you think. Don't let an opportunity like this slip away.
