Our 21st birthday!
 As you may well imagine, the past several weeks have busy ones here at the Nantucket Inn!
Our first group of seasonal workers arrived in mid March (along with some of the nastiest of the winter weather) and since then it has been an endless parade of UPS, FedEx and island delivery services -- with everything from new mattresses and drapes to CD players and uniforms.
Group two jetted in last week and its been full-on "let's get open" mode in anticipation of Friday. So here's the big question is "we will be ready, will you?"
Yes, the daffodils are bursting open, the shuttle vans are up and running and indoor pool is refreshing and wet. Wyndell is working on some fancy new cocktails and Mom is whipping up a new batch of waffle mix. And most importantly a beautiful, clean, comfortable guest room is ready and waiting for you.
So while summer is just around the corner, why wait -- Think Spring! (and great deals too!)

Room Redecoration Update
We are just thrilled with the progress of the redecorated oversized and cottage guest rooms! As anyone who watches HGTV will tell you (or heaven forbid, ever tried themselves). What you see as a 3x3 inch swatch or in a picture, can be very different in real life. Not to mention the whole "measure twice, cut once" theorem.
But here's the first pic to prove the fabulous results!
All the beds (in these room types) were upgrade to a ten-inch plush mattress with a two-inch pillow top. A quilted warm sienna toned spread with a multicolor stripe bed skirt finishes the bed along with a four fluffy pillows. The main window was finished in the same fabric and colors while other window was treated with a bamboo roman shade.
The bathrooms were given a "mini spa treatment" with the addition of a simple white window valance along with a white cotton shower curtain and throw rug. The cottage rooms also offer a makeup mirror, scale and small vase of flowers.
And finally, if that doesn't relax you enough -- Cd players along with one of our most relaxing musical finds -- "Songs from a Secret Garden" also await you!
As you can tell, we are thrilled with the outcome and we hope you will be too! You'll find guest comment cards in every room and in the lobby and at front desk. Let us know what you think. We do review and act upon every comment. |
