We will either find a way, or make
one.
– Hannibal
If you aim at nothing, you'll hit it every
time.

WE DON'T LIKE TO TRAFFIC IN CLICHES, but this
time of
year presents a good opportunity to take stock. It's
a brand new year, it's the dead of winter, and the
rush of the holidays is behind us. It's the perfect
time to reward yourself with a few deep breaths and
start putting one foot in front of the other toward
your goals, whatever they may be. There's no value
in worrying about yesterday, and no need to
fret about tomorrow. Give yourself pause
to be in
the present, where good things always happen.
Take
what you've learned about drawing a Perfect Breath,
and find some clarity, focus, and a few stress-free
moments. It's from that place that you'll find a
clearer vision of
your future. Allow yourself to find a way, or make
one. You'll be amazed at the results.
Discover the latest breath and breathing
information at our Perfect
Breath website .
And now is the perfect time to plan for some
customized training or arranging for a keynote
speaking. If you're planning a conference, a retreat,
a corporate offsite, or health and wellness fair, we
can help. Please visit Perfect
Breathing to help you get started.

Doctors say aches and pains are linked to emotions
Studies show the mind and body work in four dimensions, and the breath can play a critical link
Doctors and scientists may differ on how the mind-
body connection works, but they’re beginning to
agree that the mind and body, in fact, directly affect
each other.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Harry Jackson
Jr. recently filed a story on how the emotions affect
the body. While romantic emotions may seem to
come from the heart, the truth is, writes
Jackson, “Emotions come from the brain.”
That biological connection is attracting attention
from the scientific and medical communities who are
seeking more ways to help sick people. The
conclusion that’s being reached is that meditation
and “mindfulness therapies” can play a significant
role in getting in touch with bad emotions, detecting
the triggers that set them off, and alleviating stress.
And that means utilizing the breath.

DID YOU KNOW: Power breathing can directly feed your brain
Try this simple exercise to immediately send oxygen to your frontal lobe with great results
Writer Carol S. Wolman, MD, is a psychiatrist in
Northern California. She has written extensively on
the psychology of our times, and offers this Power
Breathing Excercise:
You need to know a bit of anatomy. When you
breathe through your nose, most of the air goes, of
course, down the back of your throat into the larynx
and thence to the lungs. A bit of the oxygen,
however, can travel along the olfactory nerves (smell
nerves) through the cribriform plate (a piece of bone
full of tiny holes through which the smell nerves pass
to reach the brain), directly to the frontal lobe of the
brain. This oxygen feeds the brain cells directly, not
even traveling through the blood stream.
When you take a breath that goes to the top of your
nasal passage – you'll feel the coolness near the
bridge of your nose- you are sending oxygen to the
frontal lobe of your brain. This is the master lobe,
which plans, initiates, monitors your actions. You are
feeding the higher functions of your brain with
oxygen, fanning the flames, as it were.
A Seneca friend tells me his people call it "power
breathing." This is why incense is used as an aid to
prayer and meditation. This is why creativity is also
called "in-spiration"- breathing in.
