Chamber Connection
The Webster Chamber of Commerce is holding its monthly networking event, Breakfast Before Business at 7:05 a.m. Friday, July 25 at the Knights of Columbus, 70 Barrett Drive, Webster. This month's program is "Natural Allergy Elimination." The buffet breakfast is $9 per person with a reservation ($12 without); please call (585) 265-3960 to make your reservation by July 22.
The Victor Chamber of Commerce is holding an Education Outreach Seminar about Stormwater Pollution Prevention from 5-7 p.m. on July 31 at the Victor Town Hall Meeting Room. The cost is $10 for members, $15 for non-members. To register, contact Mary Joy DelConte at (585) 256-6211.
The Hornell Area Chamber of Commerce is holding its 9th Annual Short Brown Memorial Golf Tournament on Thursday, Aug. 7 at Twin Hickory Golf Course. Updated June 12, 2008 According to a survey by federal DOT, seat belt use by drivers of medium to heavy trucks and busses rose to 65 percent in 2007-a record-and to 57 percent for passengers in those vehicles.

Rally to Support a Property Tax Cap - July 29 The Rochester Business Alliance is hosting a community rally that day to show our support for a cap on property taxes that's been proposed by Gov. Paterson. Speaking at the rally - set for 11:30 a.m. at downtown's SUNY Brockport campus, 55 St. Paul St. - will be CEO Sandy Parker, Tom Suozzi, the Nassau County executive who headed the state Commission on Property Tax Relief, and Kenneth Adams, CEO of the Business Council of New York State, which has organized TaxCapNow. Collecting Data for the 2008 EEO-1 Report
The Employer Information Report EEO-1, otherwise known as the EEO-1 Report, is required to be filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's Joint Reporting Committee. The filing deadline for the 2008 EEO-1 Survey is Sept. 30.

Federal Minimum Wage Increases on July 24
Effective July 24, 2008, the federal minimum wage increases from
$5.85 to $6.55 per hour.
