Sign On to Support a Property Tax Cap The Rochester Business Alliance and Unshackle Upstate are joining with the Business Council of New York State and others to support a property tax cap as proposed by Gov. David Paterson and - according to a recent poll - overwhelmingly supported by Upstate voters.
Anyone who wants to sign onto a petition in support of the tax cap is asked to send their name, town and county of residence and e-mail address by clicking here.

Our Young Women of Distinction Four area high school seniors have been named recipients of the 2008 Young Women of Distinction Awards, presented by the Greater Rochester Women's Council, an affiliate of the Rochester Business Alliance. The recipients were Carolyn Gombert of Wilson Magnet High School, Emily Katherine Redman of Webster Thomas High School, Anne Palermo of Batavia High School, and Christine Choudri of Penfield High School (awarded the top honor).

Gov. Paterson's Economic Security Cabinet Regional Town Hall Meetings
These
Town Hall meetings will provide an opportunity to hear about the
State's commitment to protecting and enhancing economic security. The
Finger Lakes Region meeting will be held June 25 at Rochester City
Hall.

2008 RBA Benchmarking Surveys Available Several
local and national benchmarking surveys have been released by Rochester
Business Alliance in the last few months. Recently released surveys
include: Annual Wage and Salary Surveys (local), National Executive
Compensation Survey, Rochester Area Executive Compensation Survey, and
the National Wage & Salary Survey. These surveys provide local
employers with valuable benchmarking tools to help maintain competitive
pay rates in the Rochester area as well as for locations nationwide.

National Position Evaluation Plan Manuals Available The
Management Association of Illinois (MAI), in partnership with other
employer associations nationally, has revised and updated the job
evaluation manuals that are used with The National Position Evaluation
Plan (NPEP).

"Walk with the Wings!" As part of our continuing focus on wellness and the "eat
well. live well." challenge, we are pleased to announce that on
Fridays, May 9 through June 27, a walking course will be open at
Frontier Field from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The entire community is welcome,
and admission is free! In addition, a concession stand will be
providing healthy menu options from 12 to 1 p.m. Challenge
participants and other members of the community will have the
opportunity to exercise, eat a healthy lunch, and enjoy the warm
weather!

RBBA Education Series - June 24 Turning Good, Bad and UGLY Results into Great Results
The Rochester Black Business Association, an affiliate of the Rochester

Health, Safety and Environment Update from Chip Dawson
Updated June 12, 2008 According
to a survey by federal DOT, seat belt use by drivers of medium to heavy
trucks and busses rose to 65 percent in 2007-a record-and to 57 percent
for passengers in those vehicles.
