Unshackle Upstate Opposes Changes to Structure Leaders of Unshackle Upstate today voiced their concern over reports that Governor David Paterson plans to change the co-chairmanship structure of Empire State Development (ESD).
Coalition leaders said the more than 45,000 businesses represented by Unshackle Upstate feel strongly that the Upstate region has been much better serviced by the co-chaired structure, including both a Downstate and Upstate head of ESD, than it was in the days of the single, Manhattan-centric approach which controlled economic development initiatives for decades. Call to Reform Brownfield Laws
Leaders of the Unshackle Upstate coalition and Rochester community leaders called upon the state Legislature to act before the end of session in June to approve brownfields reform that will clean up our communities and spur much-needed redevelopment.

What's coming up in seminars and training
The average professional wastes up to three hours out of an eight-hour workday. Time is perishable. You can't save it, you can't store it, you can't borrow it, and you can't reuse it. What you can do is manage it. Time is a resource, a unique resource that leaves you in charge and accountable for using it effectively. Interruptions cause us the most pain in managing our time. Other interferences in our effective use of time are the lack of delegation, procrastination, delays from others, unanticipated special requests, and too many unnecessary meetings. Our May 16 Managing Time and Priorities seminar will help you develop the skills and knowledge necessary to manage tasks and responsibilities to maximize the potential of your work time.
The Rochester Business Alliance offers training in a variety of work and management skills.
For more information on our current offerings, download our seminar catalog. Or click here for our calendar of upcoming seminars and events.
