The Rochester Business Alliance continues to work for inclusion of the $1 billion Upstate Revitalization Fund in the 2008-09 state budget. Sandy Parker, president and CEO, last week presented Gov. David Paterson with a list of 1,016 business, labor, agriculture, education, faith community and government leaders who have signed on in support of the fund.

NYS Division of Human Rights
NYS Discrimination Poster Revised
Many employers are not aware that the New York State Division of Human Rights released a revised discrimination poster prior to the change in governor.  The old poster does not cover all of the categories and issues now addressed by the amended Human Rights Law.  While there is no fine or specific penalty for not having the updated poster, employers should display the new poster as soon as possible.  You can print a free copy by clicking here.  Please contact Kathy Novak at (585) 256-4618 with questions.

The Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board has completed a 56-minute video on the causes and lessons learned from its three-year investigation of the BP Texas City Refinery Explosion that killed fifteen and injured hundreds.
