Mt Nebo & the Promised Land
This past Weds., David and I returned from leading our 10th tour to the Holy land; 30 WONDERFUL people accompanied us. What a thrill to once again walk where Jesus walked and relive the Scriptures in a way that cannot be explained but only experienced.

Mt Nebo - Promised Land in Background. |
This year for the first time we added a side trip into Jordan to visit the pagan site of Petra and the Decopolis city of Jerash. These were amazing, but what overwhelmed me the most was a brief stop at Mt. Nebo, the very spot where God brought Moses after 40 years of wandering. Moses saw the Promised Land, but never experienced it.
I stood on that windy mountain top and viewed what Moses saw centuries ago: Clearly visible was the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee, the Jordan River, Jericho, and the Promised Land. This spring the Jordan Valley was green and lush and invitiing. My visit to Mt Nebo became a personal ephiphany. It is not my goal to just look at God's promises; I truly want to experience them. Joshua and Caleb got it, but the people grumbled and saw "giants" rather than God's hand.
What do you see from your Mt. Nebo? Is it giants or God's promises. His promise to be with the Children of Israel is still His promise to you and me today.
