Year One:
To insure highest quality training and implementation, your initial professional development will be provided by our experienced certified training staff who will come to your school site.  The pricing below includes 24 hours of professional development, books for each participant, training materials, trainer compensation, and trainer travel expenses (when facilitated over consecutive days).

Tiered contract rates for U.S. training: (20 person minimum)
20 to 24 participants - $350 per person
25 to 29 participants  - $325 per person
30 or more participants - $300 per person

Introduction to Social and Emotional Learning

The Tribes TLC® Process - Online Course

 

Description

The Tribes TLC online course is offered for professional development. It is intended to acquaint the participant with the basic tenets of the Tribes Learning Community® (Tribes TLC) process to support knowledge and/or experience with Tribes. The course is designed to actively involve you in the www.tribes.com  learning community as well as inform and intrigue your perception and connection with the research-based components of Tribes, in your role as educator.

 

This online class is appropriate for individuals who have experience with Tribes TLC, as well as those who do not.

 

Student Learning Outcomes       

Participants will

  • Engage* in reading and learning about the research-based components of the developmental process of Tribes TLC
  • Explore* the relationship between 21st Century learning attributes and the process of Tribes TLC
  • Explain* the relevance of sound educational practices and the Tribes TLC process through online project-based learning experiences
  • Elaborate* on a component of the Tribes TLC process
  • Evaluate* personal and professional attitudes through reflective practice.

Session 3 - Community of Learners

Session 4 - Responsive Education

Session 5 - Reflective Practice

 

Class Participation - You will be expected to participate in all class assignments, including posting messages on course discussion forums. Weekly Assignments are the heart of this course. In order to successfully complete this course you will need to stay up-to-date with the homework.

Summer is Coming!
Bring Tribes TLC to your After School or Youth Development Program.
Tribes TLC After School
A 12-hour experiential training to prepare after school educators, youth workers, and community members to develop a caring learning center environment and to reach and teach children and youth through an active learning approach that promotes human development, resiliency, and social-emotional competence.

How It Works:

Participants experience learning strategies and evaluate how to apply to age/grade/subject specific after-school situations. Also included are a copy of the 432 page book, Reaching All by Creating Tribes Learning Communities, by Jeanne Gibbs, (or Discovering Gifts in Middle School or Engaging All by Creating High School Learning Communities), a Certificate of Completion, and the materials to enable you to implement Tribes in your after-school community learning center.
