President's Message
|
The first official day of summer is June 20 - however we are so lucky in the Southeast to experience warm summer weather in early May or sometimes even April. Thank goodness for the invention of the Air Conditioner! So what's hot in the meetings industry? New technology is always a hot subject. During our May 2 Educational Luncheon, we enjoyed the presentation "Smart Clicks - Event Success Through Social Media" given by Emma Loggins. We learned how to harness the power of social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to increase the attendance at our future company events. Oh, and let's not forget the delicious food at the Georgia International Convention Center and the outstanding Audio Visuals from Tech Rentals!
Next week the PCMA 2012 Education Conference will take place in San Antonio, TX (my hometown!). It will be focused on what you need to know to improve the bottom line of your meetings. This conference facilitates the sharing of challenges and solutions with senior professionals in the industry, so you can walk away with immediately usable practical tools to improve the engagement and ROI your meetings. Several of your PCMA Southeast Chapter Board Members will be attending the Education Conference and the Chapter Leadership portion of the conference beforehand. We look forward to sharing what we learn with the membership at future programs.
The PCMA Southeast Chapter ends the summer with a very hot ticket. Join us for an industry update during our August 7 Educational Program! Our panel will include Deborah Sexton, President and CEO of PCMA, and Susan Katz, Immediate Past Chairman of the PCMA Board of Directors, and moderated by Ann Godi, CMP, President & CEO of Benchmarc360°. Save the date - We look forward to seeing you there!
Please contact me directly if I can help support your membership needs and expectations at patty-kieffer@mobile.org.
Happy Summer!
Patty Kieffer
