PCMA Southeast Chapter
February 2012 E-Newsletter
As we embark on the New Year, let's look towards the new opportunities that lie ahead. With your PCMA Southeast Chapter membership, you should expect to experience both professional and personal growth. Be sure to take advantage by obtaining CEU's by attending our quarterly programs, as well as enjoying some valuable networking time before the programs.

For all of those that attended PCMA's Convening Leaders in January...WOW! What an amazing array of speakers and sessions! The best in education and events...as expected. This is why we are all so proud to be a part of this organization. If you weren't able to attend, you can log onto http://www.conveningleaders.org/ to view some of the sessions.

I would sincerely like to thank all of those that attended the Chapter Reception during Convening Leaders. Our Silent Auction at the Chapter Reception was a success due to the generous donations of items and bids from our members. These donations will enable the chapter to secure great speakers during the quarterly programs, as well as support local charities. Thank you so much for all of your contributions!

The next PCMA Southeast Chapter event will take place in March. It will be an Educational Luncheon hosted by Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center. We are very fortunate to have one of PCMA's "Best in Class" speakers, Joshua L. Grimes, Esq., presenting. He will discuss "Contract Essentials for a Recovering Economy and Meeting Industry". This is crucial information that we all need to be successful in this business. Also please remember to bring baby items with you. We will donate them to the Atlanta Women & Children's Day Shelter. Registration for the March program is now open.

I look forward to seeing all of you there! Please contact me directly if I can help support your membership needs and expectations at

Happy Mardi Gras!

Call for Volunteers

The biggest benefit of your PCMA membership is the people you meet! Also the more involved you are in the chapter, the more people you get to know in our industry. We all are busy with personal and professional responsibilities, but the extra time and effort given to the Southeast Chapter is rewarding. You will gain valuable experience and develop relationships with wonderful colleagues along the way.

Consider joining one of the many dynamic committees.  For more information on each, visit the Committees/Volunteers page of our Chapter website or contact Director/Volunteer Chair Susan Rawlins at (404) 508-1404 or sarawlins@bellsouth.net.

2012 Host Venues Wanted
PCMA Southeast Chapter is currently looking for host venues for their 2012 quarterly programs. These programs are an opportunity for your property to showcase its facilities to PCMA Southeast members who do business in the metro Atlanta area. Hosting a luncheon allows meeting planners to see what your property has to offer - especially ideal for those facilities with recently completed renovations. Ratio of attendees at chapter meetings is 50% meeting planners and 50% suppliers.   For more information, contact Director of Sponsorship Sarah Bigorowski at sbigorowski@gpha.org or (404) 419-8126.
