Deployment Tip
Tax time & Power of Attorney
Make sure you have a plan in place for tax season. Power of attorney will provide a spouse/partner, friend or other trustworthy person with the legal power to file on a member's behalf, if necessary. A Canada Revenue Agency T1013 consent form will also need to be filled out before leaving home.
Make sure the designated person filing has access to T4s and all other necessary slips. An extension for filing Income Tax can be obtained from the CRA if deployed for 6 months or more. Power of Attorney will also allow a designate to conduct real estate transactions, car insurance renewal, banking or other legal matters on a member's behalf. |

Employment Tip #4
Career adaptability is fostered by five types of behaviours: orientation, exploration, establishment, management and disengagement. When employed properly, these five behaviours form a cycle of adaptation that can ease the stress of career transition when it appears on the horizon. Individuals adapt more effectively to change when they are aware, able to seek information and can make informed decisions.
Come see us to learn more about the five adaptive behaviours that can help you to manage your career transitions. |
