Winter Camps
Kinnikinnik Child Care Centre is offering special activities for school-age children while the elementary schools are closed for the holiday season.
Deadline to register is
Friday, December 9
Winter Camp 1 (5 days) Monday - Friday December 19 -23 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Cost: $130 / child
Winter Camp 2 (3 Days) Wednesday - Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Cost: $80 / child
Child care before and after camp will be available from
7-9am and again from
4-5:30pm.

Deployment Family Winter Celebration
Would you like to come out and enjoy some holiday cheer with other deployment families while your loved one is away?
Sponsored by Sears Operation Wish, we will be coming together for a magical evening at Kitty Coleman Woodland Gardens for their annual "Carol Walk".
Illuminated by millions of lights,
the gardens become a winter wonderland during this guided tour, accompanied by quartets of carolers nestled in the woods and followed by hot cider and cocoa in Santa's Woodland Barn.
We'd love to welcome you as our special guest for the evening!

Families must meet certain criteria to access either emergency or respite child care.
If you require emergency child care during Comox MFRC office hours (Mon - Fri 8am - 4pm) please call reception at 250-339-8290 or Claudia Naaykens at 250-339-8032.
After hours & weekends contact Wing Ops at 250-339-8231. Ask for the Duty Chaplain. Advise them it's regarding a child care emergency.

Comox MFRC Holiday Closure
The Comox MFRC will close for the Holiday Season at Noon on Friday, December 23. We will reopen on Tuesday, January 3 at 8:00 am. In the event of an emergency including childcare needs, please call WOps, 250-339-8231 and request to be put in contact with the Duty Chaplain.

A casual child care option for children from infancy to 5 years. Children are cared for in a child-centered environment while parents attend workshops, appointments or have well deserved time off. Note: A minimum booking of 1 hour is required.

We currently offer a Saturday child care option that runs from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Use this block of four hours to get tasks done or just relax while your children are cared for in a fun and safe environment. Every Wednesdays, any unreserved spaces are made available for other military families to book on a first come first served basis. |

Children participate in organized activities such as games, music, crafts and other fun activities in a safe environment that encourages socializing with peers. New this year: Birthday month cupcakes! We'll celebrate everyone who has a birthday in that month with cupcakes! Note: The Healthy Choices canteen is available. Maximum purchase allowance of $1 per night per child for one light snack and a juice.
PreTeen Drop-in Nights (9 - 12 Yrs)

Kids interact through various activities, indoor & outdoor games, and social events. 2011/2012 Youth Centre Memberships Youth memberships are still available for the 2011/2012 year! Memberships that are purchased mid-year are pro-rated and valid until August 31, 2012. Members of THE MOX youth centre are eligible for FREE admission to the MFRC Kids Club, Preteen, or Teen drop-in nights as well as reduced fees for many special activities and events at the Comox MFRC. Memberships are available at the Comox MFRC Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm for all military and defence team dependants. |
