Welcome to the first monthly newsletter from your UVM Extension Champlain Valley Crop, Soil & Pasture Team.  Based out of the Middlebury Extension office, we have a group of Extension professionals, led by Extension Agronomist, Jeff Carter.  Jeff, Rico, Kirsten & Jennifer are ready to help you with your crop, soil & pasture needs.  You are receiving this email because you have participated in a UVM Extension program previously or have been on another of our mailing lists. 20th - Do you store more than 1320 gallons of combined fuel on your  farm???
If so, you are required by EPA to have a current Spill Prevention plan (SPCC) for your farm.  The Vermont Agency of Agriculture is holding a training in Middlebury on March 20th from 10:00 to 1:00 at the NRCS/USDA office to help you get your plan written.  To register or for more information, contact Stephanie Congo at (802) 828-0384 to reserve your spot!

We have manure test kits (and soil test kits too) at the Extension office.  Let us help make sure you get a good manure sample from each of your manure storages this year!!

The ground is thawing and manure spreading will start soon.  During spreading
