Dear parents and OLF Families,

This Wednesday is our Parent Orientation Night, also known as Back-to-School Night. It is very important that you attend this evening session, as it provides you with detailed information about your child's education. Ideally, both parents attend, particularly when there are multiple students in the family.

We are providing you with details about classroom management, common core standards, faith formation, discipline and enrichment opportunties, so that you will be able to support your child and his/her teacher as a true partner in education. You are considered the "primary educator", as you are providing love, guidance and support for your child to grow and develop into a faith-filled Catholic, life-long learner, effective communicator and globally responsible citizen.

Please make every effort in attending this important evening! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Blessings,
Beate Nguyen, M.A.Ed
Principal
Child care reservations for Wednesday
Our Mandatory Parent Orientation Meeting is intended for parents/guardians. We are asking that you please make arrangements for child care at home, as we are not able to accomodate all children for the evening.
We are offering child care for up to 35 students on Wednesday night.  The cost is $5.- per child and is provided on a first-come first-serve basis. Dinner is not included.
You must email your reservation to Mrs. Rodgriguez, Assistant Vice Principal, at jrodriguez@olfschool.net on a first-come first-serve basis to secure your place for child care. The deadline is no later than noon on Tuesday, September 4th. Once the first 35 children have been accepted for supervision, we can not take any additional children. Thank you for understanding.

 Continued prayers for Lily Needham...

We all continue to pray for Lily Needham, our 4th Grader who continues to recover slowly. To obtain factual journal information on her progress, please visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/lilyneedham

Get well soon!

Please pray for Lily!

S.O.A.R.  to begin in October
Many of you have asked about S.O.A.R., the after school support provided by Mrs. Susan Mekrut. All of us value S.O.A.R. as an essential part of our learning support provided at OLF. As in previous years, we do not anticipate S.O.A.R. to start until October 8th, which is after the students complete their ITBS testing.
Currently,  S.O.A.R. and OLF are working on meeting all new requirements in order to provide this service and comply with the Diocese.
RESERVED PARKING SPOTS!
There are two parking spots on the side of the church that are reserved! Please do not park there, as this is an auction privilege for which a school family has paid their support at the OLF Auction. Thank you for your cooperation!
SAFE ENVIRONMENT

At OLF we take great care and pride in providing the safest environment possible for every child, employee, parent and guest! Therefore, the training for Safe Environment and fingerprinting for all volunteers are requirements that are non-negotiable.

Please ensure that as a parent, guardian and family volunteer you are prepared for a great school year by complying with safe environment and fingerprinting requirements. Unless the documentation for both is on file with the school and Diocese of Orange, we at OLF are unable to accommodate your request for active volunteer involvement with children and youth on campus, in the classroom, on the field or during school field trips and community events.

We appreciate your cooperation and support! Thank you for your commitment to keeping our children safe!
