Enjoy your summer!

Dear Parents and OLF Families,

Here at school it hasn't quieted down yet! Vacation Bible School came to a close in June, we said "farewell" to Father Jack, and welcomed Father Mike and Father William, who have arrived to take up their new assignments at OLF.

I hope you are enjoying the summer with the kids! For some of you vacation travel is just around the corner, while others are already returning from an early start! Many children are busy with their favorite activities and hobbies. We want to make sure that our kids have time for plenty of play, imagination and fun. It is important to be with family and friends, and to enjoy all the blessings in our lives!

SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS: Each child should have received their summer assignments that must be completed by August 27, 2012:

Religion:

The yellow "Roman Missal" card was sent home for review of mass responses, since our children are still struggling with the new format of the Roman Missal. Knowing how to participate and properly respond during Mass helps us praise God.

Math:

The workbook serves to review the past school year, and is a foundation for the next grade level. Please ensure completion.

Reading:

Grade specific assignments were given by teachers and will ensure that we keep our reading skills sharp and ready!

Summer Office Hours are 9-11 a.m. M-TH for prospective families and for your convenience. We will be closed the week of July 23-27, 2012.

Please don't hesitate to let us know how we can assist you during the summer months! Enjoy your summer!

Blessings,

Mrs. Beate Nguyen, M.A. Ed.

  Prayers for Lily Needham

As some of you may already know, we are praying for the speedy recovery of Lily Needham, our 4th Grader. She experienced cardiac arrest twice on Sunday and is being treated at CHOC Children's Hospital in Orange. While keeping Lily in our prayers, we are also respecting the family's need for privacy and their need to attend to Lily's recovery. To obtain factual information and to share in support through ongoing prayers, the family has set up the following resources to help keep everyone informed of Lily's progress.

Get well soon!
