Pen & Paintbrush Exhibit great success!

Dear Parents and OLF Families,

Thank you for attending the children's wonderful Pen and Paintbrush Exhibit yesterday evening! Many students brought their entire family to our beautiful hall where the visual and written "masterpieces" were on display. Our young authors were able to exhibit their stories and books to the public. Over thirty entries were received by students of all ages. From this, the school will submit 12 entries to the Orange County Department of Education sponsored "Young Authors Faire".

Among the numerous visitors, we even had one international "art critic", when Father Paul brought his friend from Ireland along.

The  purpose  of  the  event  was purely  to encourage our young artists  to  recognize  their  creative  potential.  We aimed  for mastery of our schoolwide learning expectation that our students should be "great communicators".

In a world in which the visual arts are increasingly important for global communications, an event like this augments the students audience beyond the classroom.

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR ART VOLUNTEERS FOR THEIR INCREDIBLE SUPPORT AND ESPECIALLY TO LESLIE NEEDHAM & TRISH NICHOLSON FOR THEIR AMAZING SERVICE AS ART COORDINATORS! Thank you so very much!

  Blessings,

Mrs. Beate Nguyen, M.A. Ed.,

Principal

Student Council Election 2012-2013

Our Student Council is an integral part of the school, providing a "voice" for our students and giving leadership in form of a student government. At this time of the year, we are looking for candidates who will enjoy this leadership position to serve the entire student body. This is not about popularity, but about hard work, fairness and solving complex challenges.
