Welcome to OLF

of the 21st Century!

"Social entrepreneurship"

starts at age 6

Dear Parents and OLF Families,

When Laney May asked her mom if she could open a lemonade stand in her neighborhood, it seemed like a good idea. When Laney May counted her coins minus expenses, she had a net profit of $94.42. What she did next is a lesson in "social entrepreneurship" to us all - she gave 100% of her earnings to "Operation Rice Bowl", the campaign sponsored by Catholic Relief Services.

operation

Our young student is managing to impact various corners of the world. Her "earnings" will pay for clean water in El Salvador, health care in Uttr Pradesh, India, education in Vietnam and rice crops in Madagascar. At the age of six, Laney May is changing the world one coin at a time! Thank you Laney May and all other students who are so actively engaged in our Parish life. The OLF learning community is in good shape, when we all learn from a six-year old social entrepreneur!

 Blessings,

Mrs. Beate Nguyen, M.A. Ed.,

Principal

Do you know where your yellow envelope is ....?
Every Thursday, our yellow envelope comes home to you via your oldest child. If you are not receiving current and timely information, you may want to see what happened to it...! Please ensure that your yellow envelope is "delivered" promptly to you by your child. If not, maybe a kind parental reminder of our school-wide learning expectation as "effective communicators" might help! If you need a new envelope, you may request it from the school office for $5.00. Thank you for your support of our communication system!
