Welcome to OLF

        Educating students

to become Catholic leaders

of the 21st Century!

 Happy Holidays!

Dear Parents and OLF Families,

When we meditate about Joseph and Mary, and their journey as parents, we can not help but wonder about their unique challenges as a holy family. What experiences did they share on a daily basis with young Jesus as a boy? How did faith, traditions, social environment and cultural expectations influence their decisions as parents and form the foundation of Jesus' upbringing in Israel?

The holiday season always reminds us of the importance of our own families. Being together for special events, outings, prayer and shared meals around the holiday table gives us all a strong sense of belonging. By sharing our traditions, music, conversation and recipes, we also share our cultural heritage and oral history. One of the most valuable gifts we can give our children is for them to understand their own faith, cultural identity, and uniqueness.

By instilling a sense of self-respect for the kaleidoscope of distinct family roots, personal gifts, God-given talents and inimitable character, we foster self-confidence and a deeper appreciation for others. This awareness is an important part in our children's development and nurtures them tremendously!

Our knowledge of self and understanding of belonging also create an inquisitiveness that in turn leads us to greater cultural elasticity, respect and leadership skills with a broadened global outlook. These essential trademarks of our century, complemented by God's love and our faith-filled hope, empower our children to build on the solid foundation of our strong OLF Family. May you continue to enjoy the holidays with your family!

      Wishing you a very

HAPPY NEW YEAR

from our family to yours!

                                                                                   Blessings,

Mrs. Beate Nguyen, M.A. Ed., Principal
