Welcome to OLF

to become Catholic leaders

for the 21st Century!

A time for reflection and hope!

Advent is traditionally a time for reflection, reconciliation and hope! Taking time out of our busy holiday schedule is not always easy.

Many times, we are bombarded with special holiday offers, preoccupied with last minute sales, invited to special events, and showed with merchandise, rather than being focused on our relationship with God.

It is important that our children see in us the spiritual role model, we want them to become later on. If we, as adults, we are having a tough time navigating between the material and spiritual expectations, imagine the difficulty from a child's perspective.

Our kids see so many commercials on TV, and the Internet promotes the latest, fastest, and most expensive toy possible. When our children play with their friends, their Christmas wish list is the topic of choice, and comparison and peer pressure can be overwhelming.

How do we cope with these commercial expectations and material demands as parents? With our families, we can set time apart to pray together, to thank for the blessings we already have and to instill a sense of satisfaction by knowing that the greatest gift we can give to our children, is the gift of love and faith.
