 Back-to-School Parent Orientation News

Dear parents and OLF families,

 

Thank you for attending our Back-to-School Parent Orientation yesterday evening! We hope you found the information relevant and useful. As indicated during the meeting, we are distributing the updated 2011-2012 Parent-Student Handbook. After reviewing it, please tear out, sign and return the signature page (following page 19) to the school office by September 23rd.

Gradelink passwords:

Our new families in grades 4-8 will find a password enclosed in your envelope. This password gives you, the parent/guardian access to Gradelink through our school website.

 

OLF Newsletter and website:

After our initial difficulties with the newsletter and website updates, I am pleased to announce that we have two parent volunteers, who will assist with the dissemination of timely and pertinent information. Mrs. Amelia Cox will be assisting with the OLF website updates, and Mrs. Amy Bronzi will support the school newsletter.

 

SCRIP Program

Please review and support our SCRIP program, as explained in the enclosed flyers. Every dollar counts towards enriching your child's learning experience! SCRIP sign-up sheet

Emergency Cards:

Please ensure that you make the necessary updates to the emergency card at school, if your information changes. Our staff at the Clinic will be happy to assist. This needs to be done in person! Parents/guardians can add as many additional emergency contacts as they may require.

 

Data base:

In an effort to maintain a current and accurate data base of contacts, email addresses and various phone numbers (home & mobile), please ensure that you e-mail cclark@olfschool.net with the updates/deletions. This information needs to be shared with the clinic as well, as described above.

 

We appreciate your support and value your opinion, as primary educators of your child. Please feel free to discuss any concerns or suggestions you may have directly with the teachers or with me, so that we can better serve you!

October 2011 "SEEDS" Survey

Our Lady of Fatima parish is partnering with the Gallup organization to gather important information about the spiritual health and level of engagement and belonging at OLF. The information will be used to help us grow as disciples of Jesus and as a Faith community. The survey will be distributed and completed at all Masses on the weekend of October 1-2.

Are you ready to "SOAR"?

S.O.A.R. 

(Study, Organize, Achieve and be Ready)

4 Academic Success!

 

S.O.A.R. is an after school program that provides students 3rd through 8th grade with time, place, and an academic coach to help build skills in time-management, organization, test preparation and creating good habits with individualized academic assistance as needed.  This year S.O.A.R. is available at OLF in the tech lab Monday - Thursday for 1 hour after dismissal time. Space is limited and you need to reserve a spot via email/phone BEFORE the first day of each session.  Rates were adjusted to make this service as affordable as possible.  Please see the S.O.A.R. flier for details. We look forward to helping your child S.O.A.R. and reach his/her personal best!
