Lunch provided by OLF, served by Mrs. Tipton and Miss Simmons
(hotdog, chips, cookie, and a water) Please pack a lunch if you prefer)
After lunch join us for kickball, basketball, volleyball, & more! Parents are encouraged to join the teams and play!
ATTIRE: Students should wear sunny, summer type clothes for FREE DRESS and the concert! Bright colored shirts: orange, yellow, bright green, and/or dresses. Think "Here Comes the Sun" when picking out your attire for the day! Please be sure to follow FREE DRESS guidelines such as no flip-flops, spaghetti straps, short shorts, etc.
SCEHDULE: 1:15 MAP-7th grade students return to classroom to prepare for the concert! 1:30 Concert on the Courtyard "Here Comes the Sun".
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets!

A Farewell to Mrs.Tipton

As part of OLF's Annual Spring Concert on the Courtyard, join us as we send Mrs. Tipton and her family off to their new adventures in Rhode Island.
This will be a special opportunity to recognize the many gifts Mrs. Tipton has shared with us over the past seven years as a teacher, art guru, coach, event & project coordinator, assistant principal & principal, parent, and friend. |

Welcome to Mrs. Nguyen |  Mrs. Beate Nguyen, our new principal beginning on July 1, 2011, has an OLF email address. It is bnguyen@olfschool.net. Our families will have the opportunity to meet Mrs. Nguyen at our End of School Year Picnic and Concert. Mrs. Nguyen will also participate in our Promotion Cermony at 9:30 on Friday, June 17 as Mrs. Tipton will turn over our wonderful school to her leadership. |

SUMMER MATH BOOKS | Our returning students and new families (1st-8th) will be receiving summer math workbooks to be completed over the summer. Our returning student's books will be coming home today in your yellow newsletter envelope. Students that are actively engaged in learning and reviewing over the summer, come into the school year with higher retention and proof of success. MAP students will be receiving 1st grade books and will complete the first 10 weeks. They will complete the remainder of the book during their first grade year. 1st through 7th grade students are required to complete the book over the summer and return it on August 30th. |

Ice Cream Fridays!!! | The seventh graders are sponsoring Ice Cream Fridays. This will be the last Friday! Ice cream treats will be for sale at lunch for $1.00. Sale proceeds will benefit students going on next year's Washinton D.C. trip. Remember to send a dollar with your child on Fridays so they can participate. |

The last day for the bookfair is next Monday, June 13! Stop by and pick up some good books to read over the summer. |

Knights of Columbus Essay Contest |
 The junior high participated in the annual Knights of Columbus essay contest. The essay's theme was a 750 word reflection on the responsibility of a Catholic citizen in a free society. On Tuesday, the Knights presented the winners with certificates and generous savings bonds for their winning entries! Congratulations to the four 8th graders whose essays were selected as winners for the Knights of Columbus essay contest.

From the Clinic | | REMINDER: All incoming 7th & 8th graders, please don't forget to get your T-dap booster immunizations. You will not be permitted into the classroom in August unless you provide proof of this important update to your health record. Thanks from the Clinic. |

Service Hour Positions: Your service hour position assignment will be with your newsletter next Thursday, June 16th.
Summer office hours: The school office will remain open until June 30th. Hours will be 8:30 until 3:00 Monday through Friday.
Reimbursements: If you have any purchases that you have made for the school, i.e. graduation, Concert in the Courtyard, etc., PLEASE be sure you fill out a reimbursement form (available in the clinic) and turn it into the office NO LATER than Friday, June 20th. |

Movie Tickets | |
We still have a few Krikorian and Regal movie tickets available. Tickets are $8 each. Please fill out an order from the box in the clinic and leave it with your check made out to OLF. Please do this prior to next Wednesday, June 15th. Your order will be filled for you to be picked up in the office on Thursday. NO orders will be filled if not in the clinic box by Wednesday, June 15th at 3:00 |

After School Care | |

After School Care for June: After School Care for June will be on a pay-as-you-use basis. Unless you are on contract and pay on the first of the month, you will need to pay each day you use ASC. NOTE: There will be NO ASC on June 17th. All students must be picked up by 10:00 on June 17th. Please be sure to have cash or check when you pick up your children from ASC each day!!!! |

Auditions | Project Marian Productions is holding auditions for a new ballet, Our Lady of Lourdes, at Marywood Pastoral Center Auditorium on June 18 from 11:30 a.m. until 8:15 p.m.. Students in grades 4 through high school and college as well as adults with beginning to advanced dance experience are encouraged to audition. The performances will be in January and February.
