A Note from the Principal for the Day | |
This past week at Our Lady of Fatima school we celebrated spirit week. On Monday it was Clash Day. Students showed up in clothes that clashed from head to toe and everyone looked silly and out of place. On Tuesday, it was favorite jersey day and everybody showed up in their favorite team's jersey. Wednesday was Crazy Hair Day, which is probably the best day of all spirit week. All students had weird and interesting hair styles. Some of them included having a blue Mohawk, some used hairspray and stuck their hair straight up and then dyed it, and others were even wearing balloons in their hair! Wednesday was also Principal and Vice Principal for the Day and my brother and I got to experience different activities throughout the day. We went around to different classes and played games with them. We even got to give the school no homework and extra recess. Thursday was pajama day and it was interesting seeing what everyone came to school wearing. On Friday, it was Crazy Sock Day, also it was the last day for Student Council campaigning. Those who were running for Student Council gave their speeches on Friday and by the end of the day the school votes were in and the winners of the election were announced.
Congratulations to: Willy Donovan, Samantha Senske, Christopher Nicol, Skye Petersen, Jake Robison, and Danielle Segovia.

We Are Called To Serve | |
On Friday, May 13, the 7th grade class volunteered at the Catholic Worker Isaiah House in Santa Ana. Mrs. O'Neill, Mrs. Goodreau, Mrs. Donovan, and Mrs. Kelly chaperoned the students as they spent the morning cleaning the house and garden, preparing food by chopping vegetables, and loading the van. They then traveled to the Santa Ana Civic Center to serve lunch to the homeless and hungry of Orange County. This was an eye opening experience and the 7th graders have been forever changed. They will be organizing a paper goods drive soon to help the Isaiah House. |

4th GRADE BAKE SALE: Next Tuesday, June 7th, the 4th grade will have a bake sale at morning recess. From their "Pilgrim" adventure in March, the 4th grade had one final order from their captain to make up for the 14,997 cowhides that they did not gather during their trip. (They are not really expected to gather all of those hides in one night.) The proceeds from the sale will be divided among the San Clemente Animal Shelter, Moms With Cancer, and FAM. All items will be $.50 - $1.00. Thank you in advance for your support. |
