Dear Fatima Families,
As we embark on the very important task of selecting a successor for our Principal, Julie Tipton, we want you to know we will make every effort to find a qualified loving person with strong leadership skills to continue the legacy of Our Lady of Fatima Parish School.
Because we recognize the crucial role this individual plays in the school, we want to assure you we are using well established processes to guide the selection committee. As part of our efforts, we want to keep you informed of the procedures in place to go about this very important task.
To begin with, it is a collaborative effort. We work with the Diocese of Orange represented by Sally Todd, Assistant Superintendent of Catholic Schools, in all aspects of the process. Sally has many years experience in Catholic school education and leads Search Committees throughout the Diocese. She is also very familiar with Our Lady of Fatima Parish School, most recently with her participation on the Catholic Schools Management Team that has been meeting on site to evaluate our programs and to develop a five-year strategic plan for OLF. Sally will conduct an orientation and training for all members of the committee, conduct the initial review of all applicants along with other members of the Diocesan Review Committee, and moderate the OLF Search Committee interviews.
We will use the National Catholic Education Association publication Selecting A Catholic School Principal as a guideline for the process. Having met with Sally Todd and reviewed this handbook, I am extremely excited at the expertise we are able to call upon to undertake this endeavor.
The position of principal at Our Lady of Fatima School will take a unique individual with a variety of qualifications. Please know that we will work hard to find the most qualified person to continue to grow and expand our wonderful community here at OLF.
We will continue to keep you updated as we make our search. The position has been publicized nationally and we anticipate having a solid pool of applicants to consider.
In prayerful discernment, the search committee will make its consideration in a spirit of faith and hope. We ask for your prayers, that the Holy Spirit will guide us in faith and hope.
Sincerely,
Fr. Jack Sewell, Pastor
