Construction Update | |

The sunny days have allowed great progress this week. La Esperanza driveway is closed until March, and the palm trees, shrubs, and bushes alongside the drive have all been removed. The debris from the hall and modular demolition is gone as well. All this is to prepare for the major realignment of the La Esperanza driveway, and for the installation of all new utility lines. The entrance will be at the same site. However, the slope of the entry will be flattened out so that buses, trucks and delivery vehicles will no longer get stuck because of the excessively steep incline. Then, the new entrance will turn right and cross what is currently the lawn area below the Church. The road will gradually climb until it turns to the left and enters into the parking lot where the present storm drain is located. The construction fence is currently at the bottom of the church steps. Soon it will be moved to the top of the church steps so that the new utility lines can be installed. Temporary electricity poles and lines have been installed to provide electricity to the school and to the parish modular while the new lines are put in. The classroom modular is complete and the parish modular is in the final stages of completion as well and will be opening soon. |

2011-2012 Pre-K / Kindergarten (MAP) Class | Parents, if you have a child who will be ready for our program next year, please be sure to get an application in right away. We want to be sure we schedule our existing families for the readiness screenings which will be on February 24th. We cannot schedule you until we have an application. If your child's pre-school is conducting the screenings at their facility prior to ours, you may have your child take the screening there. Just be sure to have them send a copy of the results to us and have your application already on file in our office. |
| Auction Update | |

Got Connections? Do you or someone in your family know some of our local business owners, professionals or artists? Perhaps they would be interested in supporting Fatima's Auction! There are several opportunities to contribute: Donating product or gift certificates, underwriting a portion of the event, advertising in the Auction's program, etc. Donation forms with instructions and information are available in the Clinic in the Auction drawer. Contact Claudine Schulte at claudine.schulte@nielsen.com or Eileen Da Cunha at tedacunha@cox.net with questions. Thank you!
KEEP IN MIND THE WINE CELLAR......We still need bottles of fine wine to stock this fabulous prize - an auction favorite! Wine (valued at about $20 or more) may be safely dropped off to the ladies in the Clinic. Thank you! |

OLF will begin looking at these applications soon. Even if you don't have the supporting documents at this time, please go through the process so that your request can be considered. All applications are done on-line. There are no paper applications to fill out. Please find the FAST link on the OLF website to fill out the application. There are large self-addressed envelopes in the office for you to send in your supporting documents. |

Lip Sync | | Although popular and a ton of fun, we will need to cancel the Lip Sync this year due to the Hall being down. We will bring it back next year, new and improved, with a beautiful hall and stage. The 6th grade has traditionally used this event to raise money for science camp. They are investigating other options and will advertise as soon as it is determined. I hope you will continue to support their endeavors. Thank you for your understanding. |

Box Tops & Campbell Soup Labels | |
I have GREAT news to share! In the past 3 months, we earned our school over $200.00! Thank you to all of the families who collected and sent in their Box Tops, ink cartridges, and Campbell's Soup labels! Let's start off 2011 with a bang and earn more during the next few months! We are going to start collecting old cell phones as well as the Box Tops, Campbell's Soup labels, and recycled ink cartridges for the remainder of the school year. Recycled cell phones have the potential to generate a lot of money for OLF so look around and see if you have any old cell phones sitting around. Ask your friends, family members, and neighbors as well!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call Joey Carlton @ 949-481-9360. |
