|
Dear Parents, | |
Our Lady of Fatima Parish is excited to announce the OLF parish hall will officially be closing it's doors this Friday, December 10, 2010. As with any construction project and growth, there will be change occurring. I am sure in the upcoming months we will be required to be flexible on many occasions. It will also require parents, as well as students, staying informed and complying with the rules. We will have people in a position to assist with changing traffic patterns and to facilitate the process. It is imperative that EVERYONE carefully adhere to any directives for the safety of all our students.
In order to provide a safe and productive environment for our students, we will be relocating the first grade classroom during the Christmas break. The school will be receiving a modular classroom this upcoming weekend that will be configured to fit our first grade needs. The company installing the modular and the construction project Manager have been proactive in addressing safety concerns and I anticipate a smooth transition. The "old library" or commonly referred to as the "batcave" , will also be closing and Mrs. Acosta, Miss Laustch, and our Learning Support Team will be relocating to the room next to the office and sharing the Prayer Room with Miss Simmons.
I will be including a Construction Update section in our weekly newsletter in order to keep all our families informed of upcoming changes. If you have any questions, please contact me at jtipton@olfschool.net or call the school office at 492-7320.
Many Blessings,
Julie Tipton

| Christmas Concert | "Angels on Assignment" is a Christmas play that tells the story of the birth of Jesus Christ through the eyes of the angels in heaven. Angels are given assignments to prepare for the coming of Jesus. This funny, exciting play shows how the angels might have felt about this holy event. The sixth grade will host the play and it will also incorporate songs from each grade into the play. It will be a wonderful evening full of music, laughter and joy. Please join us Tuesday December 14 at 7:00pm in the church for the show. Students in grades MAP-6 must arrive no later than 6:40pm and should dress in holiday attire (no jeans or t-shirts please). Family, friends, neighbors and alumni are welcome to join us as well! It is guaranteed to send you on your way filled with Christmas spirit! |

| Morning Drop Off | | The safety of our children is always the first priority when entering or exiting the school grounds. If you need to help your children with backpacks or combing hair, etc. please park your car at a distance from the traffic line to take care of these issues. When you stop your car in line to take care of these, it holds up others and some cars are pulling out of line to exit. This is very dangerous! Thank you!! |

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE Let Us Begin... | | This weekend preliminary work begins on Phase I of our master plan -our new hall and driveway realignment. On Saturday, Dec 11, a wall will be installed between the present hall and the school. This wall will serve as protection from noise, dust, and construction work to the school environment. On Saturday, Dec 11, the temporary classroom will be delivered and placed in the upper corner of the parking lot. It will serve as the First Grade Classroom during construction. The parish modular meeting room will be delivered which in early January will be placed in the parking lot in front of the parish office. From Monday, Dec 13, to Friday, Dec 17, Patriot Environment will oversee the asbestos abatement process (yes, our hall is that old) for those areas in the hall that need to be removed. This will be done in full compliance with all state and county health precautions for the workers and for all those using our campus. As fences are put up and traffic signs are posted, please follow all directions, and use care and caution as we enter into this time of building. "Be rich in those gifts that build up the church" (1 Corintians 14:12). Lord, as we build up our campus, may we trust in the gifts that you have given to us to build up the Body of Christ of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. |
| After School Care Bills ... | After School Care Bills are due on the 15th of each month. There is a late fee of $15.00 if your bill is not paid by the 15th of each month. Please return bill with payment to the clinic. Thank you for your prompt payment.

| 2011 - 2012 Scholarships |
2011-2012 Scholarships: We will be using a new company next year to evaluate our scholarship applications. The new company is FAST (Financial Aid for School Tuition). Our website, olfschool.net, will have a link to the FAST website. All FAST's applications are done online. The FAST site is very user-friendly and a customer service number is listed for questions. Please check out the website and what you will need to apply. You can go in and out of your application until you pay the $36 application (to FAST) and then your application is considered complete. They will advise you about sending supporting documents. There will be limited scholarship funds available for the 2011-2012 school year and no full scholarships can be awarded. As in prior years, applications will only be considered after they are complete and verified with supporting documentation. You will be advised of your award in early March. |
