Welcome to the first edition of SEOEA's new electronic newsletter.  We hope to use the "e-Pad" to give our members more timely deliver of news and events of importance to our members.  As we get updates from OEA on important issues, we can forward them more quickly and directly to you rather than waiting for them to come from your president or communications person.  There is an unsubscribe link at the end of this letter but we hope you will not do so.  We promise - no spam, no jokes - just news of importance to our members.

In future issues, we hope to incorporate regular features such as a favorite recipes section, articles to highlight the good things we as educators are doing in the classroom and in our communities and other features that are of interest to our members.  We are open to suggestions and contributions.  Please send them to news@seoea.info or through any SEOEA board member.  I will be functioning as editor in conjunction with the other members of the committee.

Many of the education reforms contained in HB 1 could be repealed if certain candidates for state offices are elected.  Keep their stand on public education in mind while considering how you will vote this year.  Support your local Fund for Children and Public Education (FCPE) Drive which provides support to eduction lobbying efforts and to pro-education candidates.  Get involved.  See the Campaign 2010 article below.
