Hooch - Came to TAPS 2008!
Hooch is a beautiful reddish-fawn colored male approximately 4 years.
Hooch is very smart. As you can see, he is also very playful. He has
several volunteer friends and they all mention that when he sits,
retrieves or performs any of the other exercises he has learned, his
eyes sparkle with pride and pleasure. He walks very nice on a leash
without pulling. He would do best in a home with knowledgeable dog
parents and kids over age 12. Call for an appointment today and come and
meet Hooch! Kenya I'm Kenya, a very friendly and confident gal that loves getting
attention. I will come right up to greet you. I have the prettiest coat
and love to have it brushed. I was returned to TAPS when my family could
no longer care for me. I'm a very loving and fun girl that would make a
great companion and best friend. I am is front paw declawed and one of
the senior kitties. Come meet me. I'm waiting for a visit from you!!!!

We hope you enjoy this new e-greeting format. You can
count on this monthly communication to pass along information about events,
programs and updates for the coming month.
Our website has also undergone a major face lift and reflects changes and
ongoing updates - please check it out regularly.
This summer has been very slow for adoptions which has
affected our ability to take in animals who are in need - those found as
strays, as well as pets that need to be surrendered due to economic or major
life changes from private parties.
Adoptions have been especially slow for cats, but there are also many
longtime large dogs available. We
encourage you to recommend friends and family looking for a loving pet to check
out our website or visit TAPS - we would love to help you find the perfect pet
for your family. Low adoptions and a
depressed economy also affect shelter operations. Currently, we are only making improvements or pursuing special
projects if financial support is given specifically to support them. We appreciate your continued support of our
organization.
As always, I would like to thank everyone who supports TAPS
through your time, donations, and taking part in our annual and off-site
events, we would not be here without your help and support!
Purrs & Wags!

|
|
"Fun for the Whole Family!"Tailwagger's is TAPS longest running fundraising event, and
is a great time for the whole family.
Each year we try to grow and offer new activities. This year's event includes dog and people
related booths and vendors, crafts for the kids to make and games to play, and
several demonstrations. The focus of
this years' demonstrations will highlight the working dog. There will be a basic obedience
demonstration, as well as three police dog demonstrations on search and rescue,
drug sniffing and tracking. Another
demonstration will highlight therapy dogs and how they assist people with
physical or developmental disabilities.
Our last demonstration will be a fun one - it will showcase the talents
of the Border Collie and their ability to heard sheep. In addition to the events and activities to enjoy,
registration will include a walk T-shirt, doggie bag with toys and information,
a photo of your and your pet, dog bandana, and a free $1.00 raffle ticket. For adult participants interested in winning
a trip and activities package to Rockford & Chicago, IL you must raise the
most in pledges and donations above $500.00.
All children who raise $100.00 or more will receive a ticket towards
winning the kids event package (which includes several family 4 packs to area
attractions). There will be many raffle
items to give away and at the conclusion of this years event we will draw for
the airline ticketsto Las Vegas. Pre-registration for Tailwaggers' can be done any time in
advance of the event at TAPS or by mailing in your pledges and pledge form to
TAPS before the 26th of Sept.
All pre-registrants will receive (1) ticket for the Las Vegas raffle -
additional tickets can be purchased for $10.00 / ticket and the winner needs
not be present to win. Please come out to support this fundraiser - it will
be a fun event for everyone! |
