I hope this finds you at the end of a great Labor Day weekend. As we move from a hot summer to a cooler fall, the weather heralds the beginning of our very busy fall season.
As advertised, with the onset of September we begin one of our busiest seasons here at the CKIC:
This Tuesday we have Mark Johnson coming to speak for us at this month's free, open meeting. Mark is with the KY Cabinet for Economic Development, is a real champion for small and micro-enterprises in KY, and has been a longtime friend of the CKIC.

September 6th: Mark Johnson with the KY Cabinet for Economic Development
| Be sure to catch our next CKIC Meeting on Tuesday September 6th as we hear from:
Mark Johnson with the KY Cabinet for Economic Development Mark is the Manager of the KY Cabinet for Economic Development's Small and Minority Business Branch and its Business Information Clearinghouse. He provides direct consulting services and promotes programs to assist small and micro businesses start and expand. He also facilitates training seminars on topics such as business plan development, small business financing, and utilizing the internet to do 
business, to name a few.
Mark is also the Chairman of PEAK - Partners for Entrepreneurial Advancement in Kentucky. Their mission is to promote growth, opportunities, and access to resources that support and encourage microenterprise development in Kentucky.
Mark's experience spans from years in banking, business development with Community Ventures Corporation, and the Lexington Area Small Business Development Center. You won't want to miss this month's meeting to find out about opportunities for the inventor, entrepreneur and microenterprise!
