Artisan Bread & Artisan Construction
We recently completed the design and construction of the new When Pigs Fly Pizzeria and Bread Store located on Route 1 in Kittery, Maine.
Two huge wood fired ovens cook pizza to perfection! The owners hosted several people on different nights in June prior to the official opening. Our crew was honored to be included and was amazed at the variety of delicious food on the menu, the friendly wait staff, and energetic atmosphere of the restaurant.
Whether you choose to sit inside and admire the creative interior decor or sit on the cozy screened porch, it is worth the trip to Kittery to experience the flavor of When Pigs Fly Pizzeria . |

Lifestyle and Design
This is one of our favorite new photos taken by acclaimed architectural photographer, Brian Vanden Brink . The image captures the beauty of our local Harraseeket River and evokes a relaxed lifestyle that many of us aspire to achieve. We enjoyed building this house which includes interesting features. Vision + Ingenuity
| | Before |
We were contacted by a Maine school district to assist with upgrading the lighting, insulation and interior building aesthetics of a one room schoolhouse located on a remote island. We were able to turn the project around quickly to meet the school's summer schedule by rapidly coordinating subcontractors, materials and employees to work on the island.
| | After |
The logistics involved in building on islands is one of our company's many strengths.
The energy cost savings to the school district are expected to be significant and allow for a short payback on the investment. We are confident that both students and teachers will enjoy this improved space when the new school year begins. |

Classic Beauty in Blue Hill

We completed a Winslow Signature Barn in the Blue Hill area this past winter and recently installed a custom built barn door in the front. Crafted from African Mahogany and Douglass Fir, we applied a marine varnish providing solid protection from the elements, bringing out the natural beauty of the wood.

Our clients commented that "The barn is almost too beautiful to be used as a barn, but rather should be a museum for the art of timber framing..." That comment meant the world to us as we take great pride in the beautiful, classic buildings we construct for our clients to enjoy for many years. |

Houses & Barns by John Libby Expands
We are making way for a new warehouse at our Freeport location. Our goal is to have timbers in inventory when clients are ready to build. Eastern White Pine timbers arrive in our shop freshly cut, often with a moisture content in excess of 50%. Our preference is to fabricate our frames when the moisture content is 16% or less. This results in joints that stay tight long after the frame is raised and a more stable structure overall. It often takes about six months to dry timbers. The warehouse will keep the moisture out of our workshop and will return our shop to much needed production space. We welcome you to stop by to visit our shop. |
