Team Tako Sushi, which was comprised of Kathleen Hall, Jennyann Fischer, Marilyn Payne and Holly Payne, won the PRO/AM Team Competition  at the Cosequin Stuart Horse Trials. Team Sundae Riders and Team Warrrington finished second and third, respectively.

H.E. "Tex" Sutton Forwarding's Air Horse One took off from Baltimore, MD on Tuesday and headed to Kalispell, MT and The Event at Rebecca Farm  with 19 horses and 14 riders and grooms aboard. All reports are that the horses traveled well and the trip was smooth. Many thanks to Hawley Bennett-Awad once again for hauling all the Pennfield feed  to Montana!

What horse changed your career?

Sterling Account.

Can you tell us about your pre-competition routine and/or rituals?

I like to have my horse completely tacked up and myself completely dressed five minutes before I need to get on. In this time, I like to sit down and visualize my course or dressage test.

What's the best advice you have for riders who want to increase their riding skills and horsemanship?

For young riders, do Pony Club or become a working student for a top professional. For adults, even just a week working for a top professional is very educational. Also, that you have to go through some very hard rough patches to become better; everyone has to, regardless of your resources. Just be ready to grind through those hard times and stick with it.

What is your educational background?

Well I'm only 19, so I just graduated from high school last year, but I plan to start taking on-line classes through Penn State soon.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

Limitless energy.

Last book read?

Crossfire by Dick Francis

If you weren't a professional event rider, what would you be?

A fighter pilot like from Top Gun, but my vision isn't good enough.

What famous person (living or deceased) would you most like to have a conversation with?

William Faulkner.

Which phase do you like most and why?

Cross-country. I love going fast and jumping combinations. I guess every eventer would answer XC, because if we liked dressage or show jumping more, then we would have gone to that straight discipline.

When and why did you decide to turn professional?

When I graduated from high school, May 2010.

How did your family respond to your decision to ride horses professionally?

They aren't really convinced yet, but they are supportive of whatever I do as long as I am happy.

Which horseman/horsewoman has been the most influential in your own development or career?

Phillip Dutton.

What motto best describes you?

The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.
