Greetings!

Congratulations to all riders at Rolex for dealing with incredible weather extremes and having their horses looks so well at the end of the competition. Sinead Halpin, Rebecca Howard and Allison Springer kicked off the week with a fun visit to the Booker T Elementary Academy in Lexington in support of the Black Horse Literacy Program. They encouraged the kids to always work hard and reach for their dreams. The kids were tremendously excited and really enjoyed meeting the little black pony and big red!

The Owners Course Walk hosted by Julie Richards and Robert Costello was a lot of fun being pulled along in an enormous hay wagon. Next year we may add champagne with strawberries just for a bit more fun!

The PRO Question & Answer Session on Saturday for spectators was very much appreciated. Marica Kulak acted as the MC for the event ensuring all questions got answered. PRO would like to thank Phillip Dutton, Buck Davidson, Allison Springer, Rebecca Howard, Jessica Phoenix, James Alliston, Hannah Sue Burnett, Kim Severon, Tiana Coudray, Karen O'Connor, Kristin Bachman, Joe Meyer, Oliver Townend and William Fox-Pitt for attending. Spectators asked the riders all sorts of interesting questions with riders sitting on a low fence about two feet in front of the crowd.

Last but not least, thank you to all the riders who blogged for The Chronicle of the Horse, Eventing Nation and the USEA all weekend as part of the combined Rolex blog.

Voltaire Elkton
Voltaire Design's Elkton Cross-Country Saddle

Featured Product: Elkton (monoflap cross-country saddle)
Named after the hometown of Fair Hill International via a Facebook contest, the Elkton is designed for eventers who look for uncompromised performance and comfort.

As a single flap saddle, it provides an amazing close contact with the horse. Top eventers who participated in the design of the saddle insisted safety is paramount for eventers. Hence, our Design team built the Elkton to help riders face unexpected situations.

The Elkton saddle is also easily adjustable on horses with high withers.

Clarification to FEI Black Flag Option Rule

Jean Mitchell, Secretary General of the IEOC has asked us to pass along this updated diagram of the FEI "Black Flag" rulings to all of our members. Download the .pdf HERE.

The supplied diagram updates the original diagram with the EXTRA "H" diagram so that all riders can be clear on how "black flags" will be judged. The diagram was supplied by Brendan Croese (AUS "I" TD) and approved by Giuseppe Della Chiesa.
