Dear Supporters,
Thank you to everyone who came out to our many events this month, as your support is essential to our ability to raise awareness and successfully aid survivors. The team continues to work tirelessly increasing our capacity to ensure we provide sustainable programs to enable survivors to thrive. This past Friday marked the 10th anniversary of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA). The TVPA was a historic milestone, as the first piece of legislation passed in the United States addressing the issue of human trafficking. In this decade, abolitionists, legislators, law enforcement, NGO's, and concerned citizens across the globe have worked diligently to combat modern slavery and restore the lives of those who are victimized by this monstrous crime against humanity. However the road to freedom is long, as some 27 million men, women, and children are are bound by the invisible chains of slavery.
We need your help to spread awareness, advocate, and enable organizations such as BTFF to continue to provide much needed resources and services to empower survivors. I hope you will continue to look for ways to join BTFF as we build the bridge to freedom brick by brick.
Sincerely,
Cassandra Clifford Executive Director and Founder

Social Media Marketing Associate - Maha Shatat
I was born and raised in the Middle East and received my bachelor's degree from Amman, Jordan in Business Administration with an emphasis in Banking and Finance. I worked for three years in the Middle East banking sector as a Business Relationship Manager. In 2007, I moved to United States to pursue new opportunities in the public-relations sector, working a Social Media Manager with Middle East Broadcasting Network (MBN), an independent federal agency with a mission to provide objective, accurate, and relevant global news to the Middle East. I am excited to work with BTFF as a Social Media Marketing Associate and assist in increasing awareness of BTFF and the anti-slavery movement via various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and blogs.
Volunteer Graphic Designer - Keang Hok
I was born in Thailand to Cambodian parents, before immigrating to Western Massachusetts as refugees in the early eighties. With a desire to travel and need to break out of small town living, I went on to study graphics and printing in upstate New York at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), graduating with a degree in Graphic Media Publishing. I came to BTFF with over 5 years of graphics experience, ranging from bindery and pressroom expertise, to prepress graphic design roles, page layout, and production management positions. Besides Massachusetts and upstate New York, I lived in the Washington DC area for about four years working in the graphics and publishing field, before relocating to Philadelphia, PA where I currently reside. I am very excited to be part of BTFF and glad to have the opportunity to assist with an organization that impacts the lives of survivors of modern slavery.
