Greetings!

Thank you for your support so far in our spring fundraising efforts. It is individuals like you who make a direct impact on individual women in Haiti. Your gifts are truly bringing them life and hope.

If individuals are powerful to change lives in Haiti,

groups of individuals can leave an even greater impact. I have been privileged to observe "power in numbers" in Virginia Women's Center, the practice at which I was employed for over 10 years. For the past three years, the 200 employees at Virginia Women's Center have united behind Midwives For Haiti's work. Each Christmas season for the past three years, the practice employees set a goal to raise$10,000 to support our work, and each year they have exceeded this goal.

Many of you may participate in "Jeans Days" at your office to support a certain charity; employees who give a donation are eligible to wear jeans on a given Friday. Last month, Virginia Women's Center instituted the first monthly Midwives For Haiti "Jeans Day," raising over $1,000 among their employees. We are humbled by this support, and encouraged that such initiatives are possible in any office.

Your group, whether it is a medical practice, church, community, or family, can affect great change in Haiti by uniting behind this vital cause. I hope the rest of this email will help you to consider how your group can serve the women of Haiti.

Gratefully,

Sponsor a Student

Starting with our fifth class, Midwives For Haiti aims to strengthen the ties between supporters in the U.S. and our students at work in Haiti. These relationships are being built through our Sponsor a Student program.

Student sponsorship provides for a student's classroom and clinical education.

Four students have already been matched with compassionate donors. We are grateful for the support of these individuals and communities.

Your community, medical practice, church, or family has the opportunity to provide a man or woman with the skills needed to save lives of mothers and babies in Haiti. For $3,600 over the course of a year, your group can make a lifelong impact in the life of one midwife and in the lives of the thousands of Haitian women he or she will serve.

graduates provide prenatal and postpartum care, as well as community health education to over 3,000 women per year in monthly visits to 16 villages. Our midwives are able to educate women in previously unreached areas. Lives are saved each month, because our midwives are able to recognize and refer complications during pregnancy.

An annual gift of $4,000 provides the salaries, medications, rapid tests, and gasoline for our Mobile Clinic in one village. We invite your group to consider sponsoring a Mobile Clinic village at this level of support.

Take a look at where our Mobile Clinic is providing care in 2012. Women in Saltadere, Savane Haleine, Randejoie, and Colladere can owe their monthly prenatal and postpartum care in 2011 or 2012 to the generous support of groups, just like yours:
