Conference Agenda

Greetings!

Michele
MBC Awareness Day is October 13--one day out of Pinktober to focus the media and the public on the complete story of breast cancer, which includes US! Tell us your story and check out our 2012 Activities page.

This year our National Conference is in Chicago on October 13 and we are planning on a wonderful conference with great media coverage. Hope you can join us. Some scholarships are still available if you need assistance with travel expenses.

We're looking forward to a busy Fall and know that you will  help spread the message that those with metastatic breast cancer need to be part of the discussion, the research and the solutions for breast cancer.

Sincerely,

Michele Przypyszny
MBCN President
MBC Awareness Day is coming - Oct 13
We can each have a role in MBC Awareness Day. The public may say there is already enough breast cancer awareness, but we would argue that the
misinformation distributed throughout October is NOT awareness.

One of the best ways to start is think about and write down your story. We can help you. Send it to mbcn@mbcn.org. Our goal is to feature 31 stories during the 31 days of October on our website, facebook and twitter. Help us!

We have a complete Patient/Advocate Awareness Kit to guide you, with over 10 different activities. Click HERE to see our 2012 MBC Awareness Day ACTIVITIES page.

Spotlight on Dr. Pat Steeg
We are so fortunate to have Dr. Pat Steeg, metastatic researcher at the National Cancer Institute and head of the Women's Cancers Section in NCI's Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology, as one of our featured speakers on October 13 at the Chicago conference.

Pat has been involved in metastatic research for over 20 years.

Polly: It takes a community
Polly's Story

On April 1st, 2010, at the age of 50, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, and it was no April Fool's joke. Just weeks after my annual mammogram and breast exam proved normal, I detected a lump and an ultrasound identified two very large tumors and five affected lymph nodes.

MBCN is a national, independent, nonprofit, patient advocacy group dedicated to the unique concerns of the women and men living with metastatic breast cancer. We strive to help those living with stage IV breast cancer be their own best advocate through providing education and information on treatments and coping with the disease.
