"Moving Forward with Metastatic Breast Cancer"

Hotel registration is now open for the Doubletree Hotel on Ohio Street in Chicago. It is 2 blocks from the Robert H. Lurie Medical Research Center which is the site for the program on Saturday. We will again host a Friday night Welcome event, which will be at the Doubletree. Click HERE for hotel information.

You are, of course, welcome to stay at any hotel in the area.

Conference registration will be open in June. Scholarship applications will be available at that time, if you need financial assistance.

Shirley Mertz, our Advocacy Chair, has been attending the NBCC (National Breast Cancer Coalition) annual conference for the last 7 years and she reports that this year's summit was noticeably different: 
        • More plenary sessions on Metastatic Breast Cancer and
        • A greater sense of urgency.

Let's face it, many of us are struggling in the sexual intimacy arena.  Whether sexual problems are a result of chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, hormonal changes and/or emotional concerns doesn't really matter; the reality is that most of us feel the impact of cancer, in the bedroom.

Jen's Story: Learning to Live Legendary   
Jen Smith"I can't have breast cancer, I don't even have a cavity!" was my initial thought. Not that they go together, of course, but I was 30 years young, nursing my 8 month old baby when I found the lump.

 Easy to use website for clinical trials
bctrials Breastcancertrials.org has recently revamped their website to make it even easier for you to register, create your profile and receive notifications of available clinical trials for which you may qualify. If you've ever tried to navigate some of the websites for clinical trials, you will be pleasantly surprised how easy and understandable this site is to use.

 

MBCN is a national, independent, nonprofit, patient advocacy group dedicated to the unique concerns of the women and men living with metastatic breast cancer. We strive to help those living with stage IV breast cancer be their own best advocate through providing education and information on treatments and coping with the disease.
